100 Years of Magic, rates from $20.02*

pm here or e-mail me at ilovemygarden@yahoo for the "code" required. I couldn't believe they're offering to discount the already discounted $25 rate! Thought it might help someone who plans to visit by October 3.

If you call up the hotel directly, and not the central marriott number and ask for the "100 Years of Magic" rate, they will give it to you without any code.

Yes, You have to prepay. When we made ressies we paid in full. My confirmation paper says ...

"Pre-payment for the entire stay must be made in full at the time of booking. Reservations are non-refundable and may not be modified."

The number to call is 1-800-223-9930

Can anyone give a review of this Courtyard? Are the rooms at this rate their worst rooms or are they good rooms?

Yes, I can give a review of this resort because I have stayed there at their sale rates last year. I was given a room for $29 last year, thinking it was because of the 9/11 tragedy, and things were slow. I guess I'll tell you some good points and bad points. It's not my favorite hotel over there, but there's really nothing horribly wrong with it. One bad point, probably with the cheaper rooms, is that I was put in a room where you had to take an elevator up from the back of the building, and then walk down a pretty long hallway, then turn and walk down another hallway, and then turn and walk down a really long 3rd hallway to get to your room. Evidently it's basically another building connected to the main building, but there didn't seem to be much of another way to get up there, besides a lot of stairs. So I think some of these cheaper rooms are these more-difficult-to-get-to ones, so if people in your party have difficulty walking or carrying luggage a long way, I might not book this one, or try to have someone in the hotel help you (I don't remember this hotel having bell services). Ok now for a good point to be fair LOL- they have a very nice and reasonably priced buffet breakfast in the atrium lobby every day, and it's a pleasant atmosphere. Pretty much all the rooms have balconies in this resort, although they are mostly the step-out kind, just large enough to step-out, take a look, and come back in. The rooms are basically like a Days Inn or Best Western (typical motel-type room), although nice sized, larger than an All-Star room. Same type of sinks as in All-Stars though, where it just juts out from the wall with a piece of formica around it. The rooms were clean and everything worked ok, no complaints there. There was a nice free-form pool and hot tub, although the pool did not seem heated and was very cold in the winter. The fitness center has a few machines, but I would not expect to use it for a serious workout if you're a fitness buff- the fitness centers at the Hilton and Wyndham Palace nearby are usable if you need a workout. The people at the front desk were very nice, and got a toilet fixed immediately as soon as they were informed of it (I told them and ate breakfast and went back to the room and it was fixed). The main difference between this hotel and the ones like the Hilton and Wyndham next to it, is the fact that the services and amenities are more limited and have limited hours. It is possible to walk to Downtown Disney from here, although it's much more of a walk than from the Hilton or Wyndham, which are right across the street from Downtown Disney. Well, that's all I can think of right now, if anyone has any questions about the hotel I would be glad to try and answer them- just put up a post!

We were at the Courtyard in May of 2001 with a rate of $18 with priceline(back in the AMEX bonus days). Our room was very easy to get to. It was in the main tower on the 2nd floor. The balcony overlooked the pool. The pool was VERY warm(It was May) I thought this hotel was great for the price. I wouldn't book it for more than $50 night though (I'd rather stay at All Stars if I was gonna spend that much)
We added a couple of nights to our vacation next month when these great rates came out. (We booked it at $20.02 night)
I just couldn't resist it!!!

I was wondering about this resort. We need a room for one night and we will be getting probably around 11:30PM. Since it its just one night if it is available, would we be able to book it? I went to the website and since I am a Marriot rewrds member I thought I could get info. The only thing that came up was 109 per night. I guess I could call but I thought I would ask here first.

I am thinking of this hotel to stay a few nights before our cruise. Would you recommend a car if in this hotel? I have 2 dd's 4 and 1 and would probably get one anyway because of the hassle getting on and off busses with strollers, etc. How is the transportation though? We will be in the asmovies the last two nights before the cruise and I think the transportaiton from there is okay, but maybe I will keep the car anyway. This sounds like too good of a deal to pass up. Is it an okay hotel though? What about the breakfast? How much is it and is it worth it?

The transportation is similar to the Disney transportation in that it comes by every 30 minutes to the 4 major parks. They are large motorcoach-type buses, where strollers get put into the luggage compartment, compared to the city-bus type Disney buses, where you carry the strollers on board. I liked the Downtown Disney resort buses better, but that's just my opinion I guess. The resort is nice enough, particularly if you're just using it as an add-on to the rest of your vacation, and you don't need every amenity available under the sun LOL. I remember the breakfast being about 8-10 dollars, and it's an all-you-can-eat buffet. It's nothing gourmet, but they put out all the basics...eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, toast, cereal, etc.

If you took the bus to MK, about how long did it take? I would really like to get to MK at rope drop and I was told that the first bus leaves at 8am (park open at 9am)...so do I drive or take the bus?
Laura

The busses are shared with other dtd hotels. Our friends stayed there and it took them approximately 30 minutes to get from hotel to inside a park.

Do you think they have anything like this rate for just one night ? I need October 9th. I think I'll try calling in the AM.

Disnee Dad Says................................. We stayed here last year, and it is pretty nice. Dude must have caught a bad break because our room was four rooms from the elevator overlooking the lobby.
Breakfast was no more than $6.95 and was pretty good. The transportation isn't that good, the bus runs every 30 minutes but stops at other hotels, and clearly is no where near Disney Transportation. Disney says every twenty minutes, and it is usually ten or less. Marriott is every 30 minutes and it will be 30 minutes. All that said you can not beat this deal.
Clean place, nice sized rooms, nice lobby area, nice little bar. Come on, its no Sheraton or Westin, but if you take away the themeing of all stars, this place would be better than all stars. And with a car, less than five minutes to 40 or 50 dining spots.

I believe the $20.02 rate expires like on October 2 or 3, and when we called several weeks ago to inquire whether it was available, the lady told us they were very close to being sold out of those rooms. You can call and find out, you never know...
