Just got BOG for 8:10 at MK when EMM is going on - what can we ride?

We haven't been to WDW since the whole EMM (which I'm assuming is the Special Ticketed Event?) thing started.

I just got a BOG ADR for 8:10 a.m. on August 23rd and EMM is going on that day from 7:45 to 9:00 a.m. So, we get into the park early and eat at BOG. Can we then do any rides open at that time in connection with the EMM or do we need to wait until the park opens at 9:00? Thanks!

You are right it is a special ticketed event.

Just like before if you finish at BOG and line up you may get a ride before the rope drop at 8:45ish. However, you will be held back and will not be allowed to just roam around Fantasyland early. People that have been there have reported BOG folks being let into the standby line right before rope drop, while the EMM people are going through FP. (this was on Mine Train)

If you want to ride the rides, (mine train multiple times!!!) buy the EMM event, and not the BOG PPO. We loved doing EMM, the breakfast at Pinocchio Haus was great, it was one of the highlights of the trip!

We were just there this week on Tuesday, August 16th with an early BOG ADR on an EMM morning. We left the restaurant around 8:45ish and joined the BOG Mine Train line which was already building, they let us in right then, we walked through the whole standby line and got one ride in. When we got out, the standby line was already at 30 minutes. Not sure about other rides, but would not expect to be let on to the EMM rides early otherwise.

I'd agree with this -- we did EMM at Hollywood Studios and loved it. We didn't eat a full breakfast at BOG, but I have to imagine EMM is your better bet if you're interested in rides more so than the BOG breakfast.

Thanks for the info. Sounds fair enough. I guess we really aren't that interested in the Mine Train ride, but can we walk around Main Street or anything prior to the park opening or are we just sort of stuck there by BOG until the park opens?

You "probably" will be allowed to ride SDMT just ahead of the Maingate line, but you cannot access Pan or Pooh early.:)

IME, BOG guests were still allowed to line up for 7DMT before RDers but not get "extra" pre-park rides.

We will be at the Crystal Palace for an 8:05 ADR. Is there a way to get into the BOG line from the Crystal Palace?

Assuming you mean the 7DMT line, it's just a general queue, not dedicated to BOG or any specific restaurant. They hold you back from the actual ride entrance. So yes, if you finished your CP breakfast you could quickly head up there. Note that things sort of all fall apart around 8:45ish when they start letting people in the main park entrance. It'll quickly go from 0-60 at the blink of an eye. Note your mileage may vary as a minute or two here or there (the exact time they start letting guests on 7DMT, the exact time they open the main gates) in this sequence can mean a lot.

Generally speaking, you're going to have to chow down quickly at CP to have any chance of beating the rope drop crowd up to 7DMT. Possible you may miss a charachter or two. We are pretty quick eaters so can be out of there by 9, but again, every minute is precious there if you're really trying to beat the rope drop crowd.

Note, all of the above assumes a 9AM park opening.

I am asking about this for my son and his fiancé. We have been to Crystal Palace several times pre-park opening (mainly for pictures before breakfast). We were able to get 7DMT FastPasses on our 60 day before window, but we added my son and fiancé as a latter addition to our party and there are no more FastPasses available for them. We have and 8:05 so we hope to be one of the first to be seated. We don't need to see every character. Thanks for your info.

As to OPs question,

Your questions have pretty much been answered but I'll provide a little more color if it helps. When you arrive, both the pre-park opening ADR folks AND the EMM folks check in and start getting in line to the left side of the main entrance. The line will be mixed with both. EMM people get a special wristband for the event. IME, CMs at various checkpoints and rides were strictly monitoring for wristbands during the event.

FWIW, we arrived at roughly 7:30AM and were let in roughly 7:45AM. Again, the EMM and PPO ADR crowd will be mixed.

Yes, you will be able to linger as long as you want along Main Street, the castle, etc. There will likely be CMs or ropes blocking "further" parts of the parks and other lands. It's pretty obvious where you can/can't go. If you let the initial 7:45ish rush of people go, it's a great time to be on Main Street!

Good deal. I'd say you have a reasonable shot at it if you're diligent with the clock. Be in line at the park entrance 7:30ish or earlier, ask to pay your bill at CP early, etc. Every minute helps. With a little luck and good decisions you may just pull it off!

Thanks for the terrific advice.

Can you get all the way back to 7DMT from CP? I believe I read somewhere that the PPO CP guests are held and enter with the main RD crowd.

I hope someone can chime in if I'm wrong here but I'm pretty sure that if you leave CP and it's still PPO you'd be able to walk around the hub, through the castle and hang out in the Fantasy Land holding area, just like any other PPO guest (BOG, CRT). Last time we went to CP we were trying to boogey out quickly for other parts of the park and I don't remember being held, but that was probably 8:50 ish so maybe I missed any holding area?

Maybe? I don't remember where I read that. We had a PPO for CP and then planned on heading to frontier land straight from and I remember reading that information and thinking ok that's good I haven't planned on heading back to fantasyland. Hopefully I'm mistaken though and they can join the BOG crowd!

Yeah, regardless, you bring up a good point though. In re-thinking my advice I'd reiterate it could be pretty risky if someone is totally banking on beating the rope drop crowd to 7DMT with the CP reservation. The slightest of delay, late seating at CP, being held somewhere unexpectedly, etc could foil that plan real quick. BOG is certainly the better bet if possible.

Sorry for all the OT chatter from the original post!
