Spent 4 days at Disneyland/California Adventure, stayed at Grand Californian. Ate at Vineyard Room, Ariel's Grotto, Blue Bayou, and Napa Rose (dinners), and Award Weiners, Catal, Bengal Barbeque, and Burger Invasion/Corn Dog Castle (lunches).

Saw Aladdin show (****, a DON'T MISS attraction!), rode CA Screamin' Soaring over CA, Grizzly River Run, Matterhorn, Splash and Space Mountain, etc.

Too tired and busy to post a detailed trip report, but would be happy to answer any questions!

Welcome Back, Glad you had a good trip!

How did you like the GC, were the rooms that small? Also, did you stay concierge?

Thanks:D

Hi LvsTnk!!

We were in Room 3113, which was a non-concierge bunk bed room, and we thought the room size was fine. It is about the same size as the Animal Kingdom Lodge rooms. Actually, with the bunk bed, it seems like there is more space between the beds. However, we did not use the trundle, so with that pulled out, it may be a bit more crowded.

Have a great time!

Thanks for using AKL BB room as a reference I have a good idea of room size now.

Thanks Again!!:D

Could you tell me how Ariel's Grotto was? We are thinking of doing my daughters birthday there this summer but with the mixed reviews I am a little nervous. Was the food good?

I'll try to remember what we had:

I had the Salmon BLT. It was pretty good; the fish was tender and tasty.

DH had the Burger with Cheese (aka a cheeseburger). He thought it was OK. However, he'd ordered it without onions and tomatoes, and it came without tomatoes and pickles. He asked for some pickles, which never came (I gave him mine).

Both of the above came with steak fries.

DD ordered the Ursula OctaDog with Mac and Cheese. It's a hot dog with the end cut off, and then cut into several strips but with the other end still on, so that the strips curl into an "octopus". It comes with a generous portion of mac and cheese (DD couldn't finish it), sprinked with Goldfish crackers.

DS ordered the mini-corn dogs. He thought they were good. It comes in a small plastic sand pail, with the ketchup squirted into the "shovel", in a bed of steak fries.

Ariel sits at the front of the restaurant and signs autographs. Chip and Dale, Goofy, and Minnie come around to the tables. Every 30 minutes or so, the CM's get some dance line thing going with the kids.

All in all, characters and interaction and location are good. Food is OK, but nothing special.

Hope that helps!

Thanks SO much for the great information. I think we'll go ahead and try it!!
