Hi- We just got back from a quick trip. We only had 3 and a half days in the parks, so I used Ridemax for the first time to optimize our time. We suprised the kids the a.m of the trip which was alot of fun!

Some observations:

For the past 4 trips, we have gone down in early Dec. This was our 1st time in June. We know the parks well, and what rides we like. We used Ridemax and made ropedrop everyday. Still......WOW what a wakeup call. ridemax worked well our 1st day in AK...really well! I was sold!
Then Mk- not so much. I was bummed. HS- it was off too. Our 2nd am in Mk went well.

All in all- we had a great time. My dd had a birthday, so we got her a bday button, and she loved the extra attention!

I would be happy to answer any questions!:thumbsup2

Glad you had a great time!!

I'm doing the same sort of trip in November, Thursday - Sunday, and I'm surprising my 7 year old niece the morning we leave with the news that we're going (I've told her I can't afford to go and we'll have to wait until next year, meanwhile the trip is already paid in full. LOL)

How did you surprise the kids? Did you just tell them or did you do something? I'm going to have to wake her around 4:30am, so I'm thinking just telling her will probably be the best way to go.

I'm going to move this to our trip report board.

We actually told our kids that we wouldn't be back for a while for lots of different reasons. We cruised in Jan. so they never suspected. We ended up w/ free airfare, so my dh started planning this for my 11 yr olds bday.

I made up a scavenger hunt w/ notes around the house. The end was a big disney gift bag w/ a big mickey head balloon tied to it. We filled it w/ various disney items for the trip. I also made notes on the computer using a disney font telling them they were coming to disney today from Mickey and Minnie. I decorated them w/ stickers.

It went over really well, too well. I thought they would get a kick out of it, but they actually believed that Mickey & Minnie sent the gift bag. Oh well.

My dd 11, has always wanted to celebrate her bday in WDW. We have always said no way... too hot, too crowded!
She is high functioning autistic, and has a difficult time socially. In the real world she often feels she does'nt fit in and out of place. In WDW, she fits in perfectly, and she feels so special. :cloud9: She is a different girl there!

Good luck suprising your niece. I know you will have a great time!
