Just got back

We just got back on Sunday night and only did EPCOT. The crowds were not bad to me...we enjoyed the Flower and Garden festival. Did not go to MK, and glad now that we didn't, because of the Grad nights!!

My DH and I go in May after spring break and we have had good luck so far with the crowds and food courts. We gone in May Three times in the past years and we love it.

We did have teens there. Like there from a school because they all had the same T-shirt on, but they weren't much of a bother. So if you go again try May if you want. :flower3:

I was there from the 18th-21st. Let me just say...O M G!!!! AK on Saturday and MK on Sunday were ridiciously packed. I have never seen so many people on my life. I was talking to many people who normally come down around the same time and they were saying the same thing. Groups and groups of teens, music, sports, tourists at the parks . Where is the heads up on all these groups going to WDW. There is none. Topping it all off...it was Northeast week. Boston fans galore and people from the north were all there. I stayed at ASMU and by 8am the food court was crazy packed. Also packed during the dinner time. There is no slow time anymore. If there is..I would love to know when. These groups of kids just pop out of nowhere. Just my observation. Oh....Big Thunder and Splash had wait times of 120 minutes by 11am. You know its packed when there is a line down stairs for the people mover!:rotfl2:

I can totaly sympathize!! We were there from 4/1-4/8/08 and OMG!!! The MK on the Monday before we left (4/7) was OUT OF CONTROL!! I have been many times to WDW and have never seen it that crowded!! Just before Spectromagic it was like .... ... i cant even think of a word to describe how crownded it was! We were running peoples ankles in front of us, while having ours run over by people behind us! We were all just inching and inching a long. Two familys had to call security as they were fighting over who had what sport for the show!!

And i know what you mean about the waiting time for rides... we spent 3 days at MK just so we could get everything in w/o waiting 120 minutes (at 11AM)!! It almost wasnt un-enjoyable - but we took it in strides! Once the kids (or I ;) ) got fussy, cranky or sick of all the jam-packed people we bailed out and headed for the pool and went back to the park later! It wasnt worth the stres for me... it was easily avoidable and we all had a blast!

Frontierland was def. the most crowded, no matter what time of day itwas! super early was def. the best time to hit it and dont believe or think otherwise!!

sept is slow time - why do you think that free dinning is necessary. so it was more crowded than you excepted.
DH just called form work and we discussed this very thing... he too agreed he had never seen WDW as crowded as it was when we were there a few week ago. We will most likely go again in October or September for sure.....:cheer2:

Can anyone recommend which days are least crowded for certain parks?

I dont know if anyone has posted this, but its Spring Break for public schools here up north (well at least NY)

I skip April at all cost. I have been in April,May,September and October. And the least crowded always seems to be the first 2 weeks in September. April is just nuts.

This is exactly why I feel the Park Hopper option is a must, this way you can bail if one park is packed.

In fact my wife feels that the extra charge for park hoppers works against Disney as perhaps the parks would even out if people could move about without paying extra.

Well, I am a bit puzzled. I normally visit Disney either the third or fourth week of April each year for quite some time and I've never had crazy, packed to the wall crowds before during this time frame. Sure, there are people and waiting times, but not insane crowds. I know that the early Easter holiday threw off alot of spring breaks so I can see why this year may be special.

I am leaving this Thursday and hope I can survive from the way people have been saying it's been just in the past week. We'll see!

We were at WDW for the first week of Sept last year for the free dining and it was wonderful!!:goodvibes We never waited long for anything at all. The only time it got busy was in the evening at MK for Spectro and Wishes since it was only showing a couple times that week. Other than that it was a wonderful trip and I wish I could go this year....

We are headed to WDW in October this year after our cruise for a few days.
:yay: :yay: :yay:

I also attended the F & W festival at Epcot for a couple days in the middle of October last year and while it was busy it was not out of control. We made sure we rode Soarin early because FP's did run out later in the day. The other rides were not bad. We never waited more than 5 minutes at the food booths. It was such a fun time. Evenings seemed to bring more people out, but it was still good.:thumbsup2

We have also been for a few days around the 2nd week of December and it was not very busy. Had a great day at AK and had not waits at all.:woohoo:

My busiest week ever was the week of Memorial day and even that was not as bad as I thought it would be..I just planned our days and we had a ball...I could see that crowds were only going to get bigger as the Summe really kicked in.:grouphug: I would go that week again though if I had too because of DD's school...Still I look for short weeks in October and pull her out 3 days.:thumbsup2
