Just got back with news and rumors

I just got back and I had the privilage to talk with an imagineer who works at Epcot (I'm surprised that they haven't fired all of them yet...) and a man who works for the company that supplies the controlls to Disney rides (he said that he was the second batch of people who did Test Track), and boy do I have good rumors and reports for you...

First, the imagineer said that JIYI will CLOSE September and reopen in June with some minor changes and the addition of Figment in a lot of sceanes. He wouldn't elaborate when it comes to if the Imagination Institute is going to stay or not, but we will find out in a few weeks...

Second, he also said that the reason why the Innoventions Plaza fountain and the American Adventure fountain are down because of some leaks.

Third, the guy who does controlls said, believe this or not, that Dinsey is in the concept phase of TWO new parks. Not minor ones, I mean MAJOR parks.

Well, there you go. Read this, digest it, and respond to it.

Those are probably the two Hong Kong Disneyland parks, although one may also be for Disneyland's third.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that those 2 parks aren't planned for WDW. The 2 he was talking about could be DisneySea, Walt Disney Studios Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland, or Disneyland's 3rd park.

He could not have been talking about Disney Seas or the Walt Disney Studios Paris because they are'nt in the concept stages anymore . Disney Seas is about to open, and WDS is nearing completion.

He was talking about two new parks in WDW. If you look at maps of the property, you can fit at least two more MK size parks in WDW.

WDW is laid out for seven theme parks, one of which will be located south of 192. I wouldn't be surprised if they were throwing around some ideas, but chances are minimal that this is anything serious.

My origionaly post never ment that Esiner had OKed planning for two new parks. He (the guy in my articel) said that two new parks were in concept phase.

I'd rather have a complete AK, a new e-ticket for MK, two new countries for Epcot and a new e-ticket, and a new street for MGM before a new park.

I also forgot to add that there was a sign infront of the old Doug Live show in the poster display saying something about planning for a new program, or something like that, have you seen it OnWithTheShow?

With the current trends and irrational decision making, what makes you think they won't build a new park before 6 years, If you could be a mouse in the corner at a meeting (No Pun intended with the Mouse reference) it would make your head spin with the on again, off again on again thinking craziness…..

The current trends I see are:

Major downsizing of WDI
Reluctance to really invest in AK
Current focus is generating cash flow from the parks
Mr. Presslar said don't expect to see it within 5 years.

These seem to support the later, rather than sooner prediction.

Yes, we have seen a few instances of irrational decision making in the past, so I guess anything is possible.

E ticket doesn't generate as much $ as a new gate will.....this is the thoughts as of last week.

I agree with Testtrack321, I'd rather see them focus on the problems at hand, then go on to a new park. I would love to see the promised additions to the AK. I would love to see WS revamped and upgraded. But, they HAVE to stop building resorts, unless they want to build the flagship deluxe monorail resort that has been rumored since day one. That I'll take.
