Breakfast at Crystal Palace- the food was good. All you can eat, but a person can only eat so much breakfast food. Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore were there. They each came around to your table for photos and autographs. It was very crowded, but people behaved, kept their kids at their tables until it was their turn. We had never done a character meal before, my kids are now 12 and 14, and really wanted to do one. It was fun, but I don't feel like we have to ever do one again. Pricey (of course) but worth it as a one time thing.
Lunch at Sci Fi- My favorite place (just for the atmosphere). My kids liked it, but I think I liked it more (it was their first time there, my third). The food is good, I had a chicken bruchetta sandwich. My daighter had her "it's my b-day" pin on, so our waiter brought her a b-day ice cream sundae, with a candle, and sang to her. Also gave her an autographed bday certificate (it was signed by a bunch of the waitstaff). It was just a really nice touch.
50s prime Time Diner- (supper) I have never been here before, and really wanted to check it out. Fun atmosphere!! The look of this place is so cool and retro. I had Dad's meatloaf- it was so good! My daughter had the same thing , but from the kids menu- just right size for a 12 year old. The waitress was fun, she sat with us and complained a little about her long day (I told her to put her feet up). The host was just like a dad from a 50s TV show. The dessert menu is presented to you on a view master. (no room for dessert) Very glad we made a reservation there.
Food court at Pop century- a couple different meals. My 12 year old LOVED the "mom's night out TV dinner", she ate every bite. It was just fried chicken with mashed taters and green beans, but she loved it. Served in a tin TV dinner tray, of course. They selection was quite varied. And not too pricey. I had a cup of veggie soup ($3) that was great. They really had a lot of healthy choices (I was surprised) and the prices really weren't as bad as I was expecting. Tons of fruit, plenty of desserts, side dishes, vegetarian choices. And stuff that was bad for you, too! But a real good choice.
Breakfast- brought those little boxes of cereal from home, and bought a pint of milk each morning at the hotel ($1.29). We had the refillable mugs, so I got coffee and the kids got apple juice. Saved a ton of money that way. Also brought the packages of mini muffins with us from home.
TREX (downtown disney- supper) We were seated right away- on a Saturday at suppertime! Wow! The food is overpriced (of course) but tastes pretty darn good, and you are paying for the atmosphere. I really liked it. If we ever go again, we'll just get dessert there. I had the lasagna, and I swear it was the best I ever had. I had given each of my daughter's a $25 gift card for Landry's which they were able to use there, so my 12 year old made a dinosaur (which is the same as build a bear) with her gift card.
Rainforest Cafe (Animal Kingdom- lunch) again, overpriced, but knew that going in. Food was great- I got a pizza. Kids got kids meals. Walked right in at 11:30am on a Tuesday and got seated.
Oh, and since we had a rental car, we drove to a Sonic the last night. We go to Tampa a lot, and always hit a Sonic. Best fast food ever (probably the worst for you!!) But who cares- it's only a couple times a year!!! If you've never been to one- you have to go!!! The closest one I could find from the Pop Century (by my GPS) was 14 miles away in St Cloud.
I think that's it, but if I remember any other places we ate, I will post.
