We went to HHN Thursday and sad to say Sunday.HHN this year was a joke compared to last year.If you went last year you will be dissappointed.Only three out of 8 houses was any good.Wolfman, dracula, and frankinstein was the three we liked.Saw,there was nothing half way threw,no people ,no scares, just a walk through.Chucky was a joke,Leave it to cleaver was nonsence,a waste and the rest we just laughed at how lame it was.Last year every house was scary.Scare zones this year was sorta lame. They went from Universal costumes to Walmart brand mask.Last year streets was full of scares, this year very few.Maybe the economy has something to do with it,i pray it gets better for next year.Won't pay to go two days anymore.I think my husband took pictures,i'll try to get them posted asap.:confused3

I agree it's not even close to last year's effort. It may even be the worst ever. That said, it's still better than anything else in the country. We'll be there the week of the 18th for our 2nd go at it.

I agree there was some lack of scares this year.I think that some of the houses where so darn hot that the lack of cast was from them bieng overheated and them trying to cool off.It was hit or miss. But all in all I still enjoyed it..

Wow, even though I would agree it wasn't the greatest year,it definitely wasn't that bad.I would say most of the houses were at least average to good,I can't think of one that was bad but there were only 1 or 2 that I thought were excellent.I would also agree that the houses and scarezones were a little light with scareactors.Bill and Ted however,I would say had a "BAD" year and Rocky Horror better get retired for next year.I've gone to HHN 17 of the 19 years and this one was at worst somewhere in the middle if I had to rank the years. One thing I would like for HHN to do in future years is to get rid of scarezones and have the scareactors all over the park like they did in the early years, they would still have fog machines and theming but you get the possiblity of anywhere you are in the park for some chainsaw dude or a guy with a shovel to come at you!

This was my first year going. I liked the opposite houses that you did. I thought Chucky was pretty cool and the cleaver house was nonsense but I enjoyed it.

I didn't see the scary part of it. Never understood why ppl say this is not for kids cuz it was not rly scary at all. Perhaps it was just this year but it was kinda weak. Only times I jumped was in Chucky and not for being scared but because of loud noise which is just my natural reaction to jump.

The scarezones were not scary. Perhaps I don't get scared as much as I thought I would but I didn't see anything particularly scary.

Only thing that was semi annoying is not rly being able to know which way to go in the houses. I would of probably enjoyed the scenery of the houses better if I knew the way better or idk glowy stuff on ground to light up the way.

I did like the scare zones though even though I found them un-scary.

I enjoyed my entire vacation but idk if next year a HHN trip will be in the cards or not.

I don't think there have been really good scarezones since 2004 and Field of Screams along with Fright Yard...JMHO.

Yea we did not watch the Rocky Horror but the Bill and Teds was nothing impressive imo.

I agree with you that they should do scares throughout the park. I had a survey and darn I forgot to mention that. I kinda like the scare zones though and it would be cool if they kept them in place and just added scares through the park also. Anyone who doesn't read spoilers ahead of time will be surprised.

On the survey they asked about what to change next year. I chose they should have 8 houses 10 scare zones and 3 shows. They had an option to get rid of the shows and asked a follow-up question saying would you still go w/o a show. I chose less likely...I think they need some shows but hopefully it will be better then this years.

We still had a blast. What's bad is we brought friends with us this time cause it was so much fun last year.We will try again next year, you just never know!!!
That's a great attitude to have. :thumbsup2

that is right.. what was the song from the TV show "The Fact's of Life".. You take the good, you take the bad.. the facts of life, the facts of life........
Oh boy am I dating myself :lmao: and I was a little older when that show was on too.. :rotfl:

Last year's scare zones might not have been as scary as 2004 but they were beautifully themed, it looked like they put a lot of effort into it. This year's scarezones look cheap by comparison.

i enjoyed the cleaver house.

i did read up about it before going and went in with some knowledge of that house.

it was like doing the house in reverse order.

you enter the same way that the "employees" entered to report to work.

you go thru the line at the start of "their" day up through the processing plant to the end where the restaurant is.

it fits together like a puzzle then.

silver screams was great when i went through it.
one night that i went, it had waiting times posted for 90 minutes.

a lot of the raves about the houses can be contributed to the team that was working in it when you go through it.

if the team's timing is all together, you get a better feel for the house and can appreciate it a lot more.

i appreciated the theme used for this year.
only 2 houses missed the mark for me this year but i still went thru them and they were fair.

next year is the 20th anniversary of HHN.
i'm hoping it will wow me.

i always have a good time at hhn.
i do read up in advance and have a decent idea of what symbols mean in the houses.

the UTH is an excellent way to appreciate the details and symbols in the houses.

You are right on. the last good scare zones were the Field of Screams and Fright yard. everything since, has been a big let down.

wish the ones that plan the event would read this board!
