Hi all! Just got back from a wonderful long weekend! I'll come back later with any and all details (my dh just got home w/my youngest and I've missed them both!!). Two quick things: Great weather and crowds not as bad as I thought they might be!
More later...

A few others have been saying the crowds had not been bad. I noticed you mention that you had not seen your dh or ds. Did you make it a girls weekend? :)

Yes, it pretty much was a girls-weekend. The trip was actually my dd's 5th b-day present, which I'll never be able to top! My dh and I discussed going as a family, but with $ being an issue and the fact that we're just not relaxed-enough parents to bring an almost 2yr old to WDW, we decided that if this is what I wanted to do to just go. My parents came and surprised her, so that helped me out too!

Ok, I'll try to make it quick:
We arrived on Thursday (5/12) in the evening. Used ME with no problems what-so-ever; Mickey-gloved CM's are VERY easy to spot! Stayed at POR; no complaints here, even with others complaining about the bus service (longest wait was maybe 20 minutes, no more). Went to DTD that night- VERY crowded; had me worried about the rest of the trip!

Friday- Did MK's EMH. Worked great! Got there at 8am and rode almost every ride we wanted to w/o using FP! (We stayed until noonish). Rode: Peter Pan, Pooh, Dumbo, Mickey's Philarmagic, small world, Haunted Mansion (couldn't believe dd did it and wasn't scared!), Pirates, Country Bears and Cinderella's carrousel(please excuse my spelling- very tired!). Longest wait was for Dumbo, but even that was only about 15-20 minutes, and it was after 9am!
Went to Epcot for lunch w/Princess-dd loved it! Food was good if you like to try new things; dd enjoyed her pb&j! Caught the bus full of characters and did a few autographs before heading out to MGM (I know-we were crazy to do 3 parks and I was advised against it, but dd really wanted to see Playhouse Disney!). Went to Ariel, Playhouse, Great Movie Ride and Muppets w/little to no wait.

Saturday-did EMH for AK; left by noon. Very crowded IMO, but never being there before, maybe it was normal? Got FP for safari b/c my dad needed to rent a ECV and didn't know how long it would take him to get it and get to the back of the park. LOVED the Festival of the Lion King-dd's favorite show!
After swimming at pool, went back to MK for dinner at Crystal Palace (dd was surprised at this one-loves Pooh!); stayed for Spectro but not Wishes (dd decided she was just too tired!) The crowd level was CRAZY! Never seen so many people! Got out of dinner @ 7:30 and the street was already full of people getting their parade spots. We were able to grab one, but just barely!

Sunday-slept in and went to MK later in morning until 4ish. Crowds started out kinda heavy (FP times were anywhere from 1 to 3 hours from current time, depending on ride). Left to go to Chef Mickey's (dd loved it too!) and then came back to MK for an hour-dd and I had FP to ride BTMRR.

ME back to airport this am went very well too. No complaints from me!

Sorry it's so long, but just wanted to let others know that overall, crowds were not as bad as predicted IMO. Maybe around a 5 overall? Doesn't matter now I guess. Great trip and am soooooo sad to be back!

What a nice birthday for your DD. I can't wait to have a mother- daughter trip with my DD. Glad you had a great time!!

You made me nostalgic! We celebrated DD's 5th birthday at WDW 4 years ago.

Don't be sad- start planning a return trip for the whole family. It's never too early to plan. That's the best way I know to chase away the post trip blues.

I'm already in the early planning stages of our next trip:3years-or more-from now! I want to switch credit cards so I can get the Disney Bank One card (I'm only safe if I have one card!) I'm hoping it'll make things a little cheaper if we save up some points! I've also been filing all my books and paperwork that I had to use as a reference later. Of course, I'll probably be buying all new stuff too, but that's okay! :goodvibes

How funny-I just got home Monday from a mommy-daughter only trip! She is 5 as well. We had some much fun! I was the NICEST mom! I didn't lose it with her once (and I lose it at home all the time, LOL). We did an Epcot/MGM combo on Friday and then stayed at the pool all day Saturday. I really missed my boys though!
Glad you had fun!

We just got back last night and I agree that the crowds weren't that bad. A lot of times it seemed like a lot of people walking around but the lines for the rides were short. We never waited more than 5-10 minutes for any of the big rides like the Space/Splash/Big Thunder, TOT, etc.

Longest waits we saw were at the Land pavillion. Soarin' was always at least 45 mins so we just fastpassed it. Living with the land was always at least a 25 min wait! The whole pavillion was just jammed w/people.

Just got back yesterday. 1st trip with my DH (I have been there numerous times) and he loved it - we are already planning not 1 but 2 return trips this year!! If only I lived closer - at least I am only 3 hours away so that helps. Crowds were very light especially Monday afternoon at MGM - we never had to wait more than 5 minutes for Rock-n-Roller Coaster and there was absolutely no line for Tower of Terror. We had fastpasses for R-N-R but didn't use them since there was no line. AK on Mon AM wasn't too crowded either. We went to Epcot on Sunday and there wasn't that bad of crowd there - and like someone else mentioned the only crowded area was The Land - we ended up bypassing that area so we missed Soarin and the Land boat ride but we will try and catch it in Oct.
