Just got back from 8 days in Orlando, went to Disney and Universal. Wanted to say thanks to everyone on the boards who answers questions. It was our first time and the tips you provided made it a great trip! I may post a trip report in a couple of days, but here are a few thoughts....
Crowds were busy at times, but managable thanks to Fastpass at Disney and FOTL at Universal (stayed at Hard Rock, so used room keys instead of Universal Express). We never waited more than 20 min for any ride and got to do everything we wanted, 3-4 times for some rides!
At Universal, all the Express passes were gone by 2 pm for some rides, so having the room keys made all the difference in the world, we could still use the express line, even though the reg passes were gone.
We stayed at PO FQ and loved it. Nice and Quiet after a noisy day at the parks, we were in building 4 and it was 1 min to food court and 1 min to bus stop.
Tour Guide Mike-- I know there have been differing opionions about his web site, so here is my $.02. His Iterneary advice was right on the money and easier to understand than what was in Unofficial Disney. He laid out a clear plan of action for each park that was somewhat flexable, and by following his advice we avoided long lines. His directions from the airport to the hotel was also very helpful. If you have never been before, like us, I think it is worth it. If you have already been several times, you probably know most of the tricks.
Also went to Daytona, Kennedy Space Center and Beach in Merrot Island Wildlife refuge. If you are looking for a quiet beach away from the throngs of wild college kids during spring break, this is it.
Any questions?
