Just got back from 8 days in Orlando, went to Disney and Universal. Wanted to say thanks to everyone on the boards who answers questions. It was our first time and the tips you provided made it a great trip! I may post a trip report in a couple of days, but here are a few thoughts....

Crowds were busy at times, but managable thanks to Fastpass at Disney and FOTL at Universal (stayed at Hard Rock, so used room keys instead of Universal Express). We never waited more than 20 min for any ride and got to do everything we wanted, 3-4 times for some rides!

At Universal, all the Express passes were gone by 2 pm for some rides, so having the room keys made all the difference in the world, we could still use the express line, even though the reg passes were gone.

We stayed at PO FQ and loved it. Nice and Quiet after a noisy day at the parks, we were in building 4 and it was 1 min to food court and 1 min to bus stop.

Tour Guide Mike-- I know there have been differing opionions about his web site, so here is my $.02. His Iterneary advice was right on the money and easier to understand than what was in Unofficial Disney. He laid out a clear plan of action for each park that was somewhat flexable, and by following his advice we avoided long lines. His directions from the airport to the hotel was also very helpful. If you have never been before, like us, I think it is worth it. If you have already been several times, you probably know most of the tricks.

Also went to Daytona, Kennedy Space Center and Beach in Merrot Island Wildlife refuge. If you are looking for a quiet beach away from the throngs of wild college kids during spring break, this is it.

Any questions?

No questions. Just welcome back and I'm glad to hear you had a wonderful vacation.:D

Glad you had a great time. Regarding TGM, did you follow his MK itinerary? If so which one (with/without kids)? We're you able to get in all the things he has listed pre-lunch? It seemed a little ambitious to me but I haven't been there in quite a while. Thanks.

Welcome back, sounds like you had a great trip. Will you be writing a trip report?

In reguards to TGM magic kingdom Itenerary, We arrived on a non EE day just before park opened at 9, and rode space mtn, buzz lightyear (twice), the train, big thunder mtn railroad, splash mtn, pirates/carrib, Hauted Mans in time to eat lunch around 11:30. We road splash mtn again and Jungle cruz on FP after lunch . We used his advice for families with teens, our kids were not intrested in the fantasyland rides.

I wont give away EXACTLY how he said to do it, but that is what we got to ride by lunchtime. If you waited till after lunch to try to get FP for the major rides, you would have a return time between 3-5 pm. Standby times were usually 45-60 min by late morning.

Make sure you get in the Fastpass Return line! We came across some poor souls who were waiting in the standby line, even though they had current Fastpasses, they didnt understand there was a seperate line!
