Okay, we litterally just got back about 3 hours ago. We were at WDW from Jan 10 to the 19th. Hear are some of my reviews/impressions of some of things we saw and did.

Soarin at Epcot - AWESOME, we loved this ride. However, I think they have put it in the worst possible location in the whole park. It is in the Land building. Now I at first did not think that this would be problem. It is a pretty big building, but when we were there it was a mad house. We went over the weekend and once during the week. During the week the crowds were manageable, but once the weekend hit......wow. It was a fight just to try to get to the fastpass printers. Plan on hitting this attraction, but take advantage of the fastpass. We saw wait times above 2 hours for stand-by line.

Magic Your Way tickets
- I was really bummed out that they stopped doing the Dream Maker packages at first. But this new system is pretty slick. We had a few days that we had planned to just do nothing on. We ended going to the parks for those days and we had to upgrade our MYW tickets. We each added a day to our passes. It cost us 2 dollars each. 2 dollars and that allowed us to park hop for one whole day. Fantastic. On a another note on the tickets. I lost mine at Illuminations on the 2nd night we were there. We were freaking out. I thought I was going to have to buy a new park pass. The next day I went to Guest Relations and OMG they were able to deactivate the old ticket and print me a new one they totally saved the day.

Celebrating Birthdays at WDW - what a great way to turn 30. I got my Goofy phone call and my button and everyone near us on Main St. USA at the Magic Kingdom sang me Happy Birthday before the Share a Dream parade. It was embarassing, but really cool at the same time. Pop Century also sent me balloons and a signed Mickey Mouse pic/birthday card. Pretty cool.

Lights Motors Action - another winner in my book. I love the WDW Shows. This one is big in every aspect. Big explosions, big jumps, big stunts and lots of noise. I love it

A few other observations:
If you are familiar with the the Tomorrow Land Terrace - Noodle Station it is a pretty good location to catch Wishes. The restaurant was not in operation during our visit. But there are plenty of tables and if you go early you can get one right at the rail. This provides a completely obstruction free viewing of fireworks and you they pump the whole production into that area as well. So you won't miss a thing. If you are going to go this route, be sure to try to get the tables towards the end where the bathrooms are located (farthest side from Tomorrow land). Otherwise the fireworks appear slightly off centre, but if you can deal with that then sit anywhere and the show is still great.

If you go to the Boardwalk, try renting one of the Surrey bikes. They are a blast. You can go from the Boardwalk to the Beach Club, and the Yacht Club. They have a route you are supposed to follow, but it's still fun. And you can get bikes that will seat 2, 4, or 6 people....plus 2 little one's up front. What fun!

My favorite burger spots are Gasparilla Grill and Games at the Grand Floridian, Beaches and Cream, and Peco's Bill Frontierland at the Magic Kingdom.

Let me sum up by saying Dole Whip rules!

Thanks for the quick report. I will agree with you, Soarin was great. We went last September and the crowds weren't very big. Thanks for all the tips.
So planning for your next visit already?? :rotfl:

Welcome home.

We loved Soarin also. Sounds like you had a great birthday trip.

Great report! Glad you had a wonderful time. And with this wonderful, balmy weather here today, a Dole Whip would totally hit the spot !

Thanks for your impressions! I'm looking forward to trying the Soarin Ride. However, my son and I are prone to minor motion sickness - things like the IMAX movies or reading in cars bothers us. What was your impression - will this ride be ok?? Also, it sounds like this ride is best done first thing in the morning - agreed?

I am actually the exact same way. I did not find that Soarin made me motion sick at all. It is a very relaxed and sort of a slow moving motion simulator.

Hey Blusk, sounds like you had fun. I just don't understand how you added 1 more day at the parks for only $2? What was your original pass for (# days), and did you add an extra day for only $2?

Sounds too good to be true.

I bought 10 day premium pass, could I add extra day for $2?

Please explain

The passes that we bought were 7 day Magic Your Way tickets. We added the park hopper option and the "fun visits". This was something like $200 US. We were getting towards the end of our trip and we only had 1 day left on our park pass. So we went to a ticketing booth at MGM and added a day for $2 (I think it came to around $4.25 with taxes for the both of us). The more days you buy the cheaper they are per day. We saw an add on one of the resort tv channels that mentioned you can add options to your pass at any time as long as it hasn't expired. So we just added one day. I think if you already have a 10 day pass it may even be less to add an option onto it. When you get to a park, take a look at one of the ticket booths. There is a big sign above them that has the whole cost breakdown for the MYW tickets. I don't think that they mention anything past 10 days. But if it isn't busy, just ask how much to add a day onto your pass.

Wow it really sounds like you had an awsome trip! :sunny:

We're leaving real soon :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: and I can't wait to ride soarin'! :Pinkbounc
