We just got back from our trip. We got the 2 day 3rd day free option. We went to IOA on Thurs and US on Fri. Decided to go back to IOA on Sat.
We were very impressed with IOA. We got there a little after 8am and headed straight to Forbidden Journey. The posted wait time was like 35 or 45 mins (can't fully remember) but the line moved a ton faster than that. And it was that way pretty much the entire day. We were able to ride everything in IOA that we wanted to and some things twice. We were done by around 8pm.
The first thing I noticed there (and throughout the rest of the park) as the fans blowing to keep you cool. Also there were many places that you waited inside with a/c. That was very nice.
Like I said, we went to US on Fri. We enjoyed it but weren't as impressed by it as IOA. The wait times were pretty true (and even longer in some areas). But what I was turned off by most (as was my daughter) was the fact that many rides were having technical difficulties. We got on MIB and as we were sitting in the car, they had a tech issue and we sat there for about 5 mins (a person standing in the line next to us while we were in the car said this was the 2nd time that day). But once the ride got going, it was a fun ride. We headed over to Rip Ride Rocket later and we were utilizing the single rider line. Same thing happened. After waiting over 25 mins that was posted, they also had technical difficulties. So we got out of line as it was getting late and we needed to eat so we could get to the parade. My daughter didn't want to watch the parade after all, so we went to ride Transformers while our friends stayed for the parade. The wait posted was 30 mins. 45 mins later we were just where you could see the corals. They announced they were having technical issues several times. Then the guy came over to say it was going to be at least another 20 mins. So we got out of line and headed to Rip Ride Rocket. Again the single rider line was posted around 25-30 mins. It actually took us almost an hour to get through it. As we were standing there, the express line kept going and going and going. They regular line and single rider just stood there. By the time we got up there, we enjoyed the ride but felt that it wasn't worth the wait.
Overall, the parks were really great. The rides themselves in both parks were awesome. They did a great job with effects.
Rides we loved -
Forbidden Journey
Hulk
Spiderman
Simpsons (the Krustyland one)
