just got back- mixed reviews!!

Hi Anita36,

I just thought I would add to the "Don't leave the boards" I am really sorry people are harassing you. I have read other posts where this has happened and I think it's sad. I think people get a lot meaner when you cant see their face.

My very first trip to WDW was on my honeymoon-in August last year. I hated it. I told everyone the best ride was the plane trip going home. The lines were long, their idea of "fast" rides was embarrassing, I was hot and groucy, food was expensive and poor quality- I wanted healthy and on the go. Hoop De Do was Doo Doo as far as I was concerned, there were turtles in the river at CB- and they show sailboats in the photo of the brochure- whoever heard of a place where you can sail, but not swim? And the pool was always crowded, waaay too many kids to enjoy myself, kids whining on the buses, 40min waits for busses... I swore up and down I was never going back-ever. I did NOT see the "Disney Magic"

Then something happened....can't say what got into me- I think I came here-the the boards- to figure out why people liked it. And I caught it- the Disney Bug. I decided to go back. In May. Not as long a trip, but I planned, and I studied and I got TourGuide Mike's info to touring the parks. We followed his advice. There were no sore feet. We never stood in line. We stayed at POFQ. Now I fantisize about going back. I took my second WDW trip in a different frame of mine. I also realized its nostalgic for a lot of people. I love Universal too and found that far better the first time I went. The second time we never made it over, we were having such a good time we came home with unused Universal tickets.

All this to say....perhaps in years down the road you will decide to try it again and will have a different experience.

I hope you stay on the boards, if you want to. I know I had a bitter taste in my mouth about my honeymoon, and I agree, there are other vacations I love too. But I wish you all the happiest vacations- because no matter where you go, it should be a joy to be there.

No one can kill my Disney buzz!! Tomorrow I will be in the MK eating my turkey leg, watching dd's eyes light up when she rides all the rides, buying things I really don't need, catching some parades and fireworks, posing for silly pictures with the characters, taking pictures of DH as he comes down Splash Mountain all alone cause I hate the drop at the end, eating way too much food at outrageous prices and loving every minute of it. Oh yeah, and when we get home we only have 4 months until our next Disney vacation. By the way my whole life is magical, Disney just adds to it. I appreciate the fact that Disney isn't for everyone, but I'm sure glad it's for my family!!:sunny: I'll See all my fellow DISer's when we get back Oct 31st:wave: TTFN,
ta ta for now!!!!!!!!!!!

Anita36 ... I think you and your family might be ready for CEDAR POINT in Sandusky, Ohio - The World's #1 Roller Coast!!!

If you've never been, you'll be "amazed" -- if it's been a few years, you will also be "amazed" at all the new rides and upgrades to the resorts.

Visit their website to learn more!!

Birdiesunshine, I hope you have a lot of fun! I just got back and boy do I wish I were going with you.

I think instead of going to "Theme" Parks you and your family are looking for the excitement of an "Amusement" Park. They are two different things ... you will find the thrill rides at an amusement park.

Check out Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH ... The World's #1 Roller Coast!!!
