our last night was at All Star Music (:scared1: UGH more later on this ) Let me say that our 2 br villa was 8621 in the GS section and it was PERFECT. Clean, not a complaint to be had. We loved this GS location....we were very happy. The busses were fine EXCEPT FOR OUR FIRST NIGHT TO MK. OMG we were going to the MVMCP and we got to the bus at 3:55 and waited for 50 min. for a bus to come. I called transportation and so did another family when we were all standing there. I felt so bad for the people at Congress Park and The Springs.....they waited over an hour and then all of the people at The Springs bus stop were told to wait on another bus. That was our only bus problem we had for 7 nights. NOW we never did get our last night (Thanksgiving night) on the wait list so we booked a "family suite" at ASMU and BOY WHAT A SHOCK TO OUR SPOILED DVC BODIES. We were so disappointed in that place. We had never stayed at a value in all of our years of trips. We have stayed in Deluxe, DVC and a couple of moderates and this was just a shock to our system. I know that sounds snobby :snooty: but we own DVC for a reason and this just sealed that deal. For us personally.... we realized that we will have to splurge for something much nicer if we can't get all of our DVC nights. We are lucky in that we can also book at Shades of Green which is very nice and we consider that to be a deluxe too.....so that will be our old stand by from now on. I don't want to slam the values ...they were just not our cup of tea. :guilty:

We arrived on Thursday Nov. 20th and have done this same Nov. trip 3 other times. We felt this time however.... the crowds were much better than last Nov. Now we did end our park days on Wed. Nov. 26th so I am sure Thanksgiving on....is very crowded but even last year T and W were pretty packed and this time they weren't. Not sure what was up because I am pretty sure most resorts were at capacity so maybe less locals or less people staying outside of WDW. :confused3

Definately the crowds were better than last year. Our Airtran flight home yesterday had empty seats(it didn't last yr).

I thought you were staying at one of the Moderates for the nights you couldn't get DVC?

Oh well....I changed our flight to go home on Friday from Thanksgiving night when the fares went down a couple of weeks before our trip..... from what I originally paid back in Aug. so nothing was available then except for ASMU. UGH I had originally booked CBR back in Aug. but then my waitlist came through so I was booked all 7 nights at SSR and then got the wild hair to just stay one more night so we could spend all of Thanksgiving at Disney. WRONG MOVE. We did enjoy Chef Mickeys for dinner on Thanksgiving...so that was good but our last night accomodations were not good. :scared:

I know what you mean--last year we decided to save up some points and also splurge on a few nights at the Poly. We started with 3 nights at ASMo. It was very late when we arrived that first night, and when we finally trudged into our room around midnight, my then-6-year-old looked around and said: "whose room is this?" :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

DH and I laughed and acknowledged that we have created a DVC "monster."!! I have to agree that there is no (easily) going back from a 1BR!

Glad you had a very nice trip!

When we at WDW I early November, we were told that Disney is short a couple hundred bus drivers. I don't know if that is true or not.

Actually our one night at ASMU 2 summers ago was one of the final reasons we bought DVC. We knew that we wanted to bring family. Our family loves the Poly but a week with 10 people/3 rooms is pretty pricey. So we thought we would check out the ASMU family suite as a possibility for our family trip. OH MY, it was a shock to our systems. We love our SSR home and probably have spoiled my family especially my sil for the space and SSR grounds. Sure wish we were there now.

Thanks for sharing your great experiences at SSR. It is our DVC home and we have never had a problem there. I know what you mean about being "DVC spoiled" We wanted to save weekend points a few years ago so stayed two nights in a moderate. We really did not realize just how spoiled we were. We couldn't wait to check out and get into our villas. LoL The moderate was clean and nice but no microwave or washer & dryer? No way! :lmao:

Thanks for your comments-it just makes us happy to know that we choose DVC for the right reasons.:thumbsup2
