Just got back last night from the POLY... Miserable trip!!

Hey Mrs. Buckleybunch,

We were just two doors down from you on the third floor in Figi. I saw your lights.

We were there for 3 nights December 19-22. Our water wasn't HOT, but we never had cold showers or baths either. That is really strange that you were without hot water. I had a shower once with the tap cranked all the way over to hot and that temperature was just right, so obviously something was wrong.

Sorry you had a bad trip. Your lights looked great though!

Sorry you had such an experience. It took me quite while to realize that the "short" end of the handle in the shower is to point to he temp you want and not the end of the "handle" itself. I'm sure since you've been numerous times, this was not the case for you. Even during busy times, I always have hot water, as I am in the shower by 5am.


I think you will want to go back again soon . I go through the "I hate Disney" thing every trip. It's usually as I am falling alseep on the first night -I think it's just exhaustion.

I think when we pay a lot for a room it just compounds the problem when things go wrong!
 
I know you're upset about the situation, as you should be, but I think your experience is definitely an exception. Chances are, if you were to go back today, you would have a wonderful time. We just returned from a wonderful trip and EVERYONE could not have been nicer!
 

Just out of curiousity was the rude CM at the front desk a young,bald male?He was quite snotty with us and we eventually had someone else help us who was wonderful.
We were just ther dec.11th-15th.

Sorry to hear about your trip. I don't know about the Poly, but most hotels have POS (point of service) heaters for the hot water, meaning it doesn't matter how many people are showering, each room has it's own individual box that heats the water as you use it - so yours may have been bad and everyone else did have hot water. btw - we stayed at the Poly once, had a miserable experience with the CM's and have stayed at the CR ever since (14 trips) and absolutely love the CR.
 
I am so sorry to read you had a miserable trip. I would encourage you to write a letter to the General Manager at the Polynesian Resort. Try to be as factual & as specific as possible. Details such as time, date & location of the CMs you encountered would help pinpoint who is the CM in question.

Last October we did not have hot water in our ASMu room. I called & within a short time we did have hot water. There is no excuse for no hot water every day.
 
I'm sorry to hear of your bad experiences. I stayed in the Fiji building at the Poly in July 01 and had a great experience. Having to take cold showers is just not acceptable wherever you stay, I would have been down at the front desk asking for a new room.

It's easy for me to say because I didn't have your bad experience but If you really like WDW give it another chance. Hopefully you will find that this was an isolated incident.
 
So sorry to hear about your terrible trip. We were at the Yacht from 12/10 to 12/14 and the Poly from 12/14 to 12/18 and we had trouble getting hot water in the am at the Yacht club. We found the hot water at the Poly to be very hot and quick after our Yacht experience. Overall we liked the Poly very much and would go back in a heartbeat.
 
Sorry to hear about your trip. We stayed in Fiji Dec 7-10 and never had any hot water problems. I was shocked to hear about the rude CMs at the Poly!! They were very kind and accomodating with us. Let us know what happens if you write them!!
 
So sorry to hear about your disappointing trip. For most of us, we save up for a special trip, The Poly is a dream for so many of us. To finally get to stay here, only to have it ruined by rude CM, no hot water and food poisoning and a management who could care less. I find this totally unacceptable. I would write a letter telling them my feelings and why I feel this way.

With less then 45 day to our Poly Trip, these are stories that scare me. This is a trip thats been postponed twice. I do not need anymore disappointments.

I will have a wonderful trip, I will love the Poly and refuse to let a rude CM or anyone there spoil it for me. I will be patient but firm if problems arise. I keep telling myself this over and over.

We returned from the Polynesian Dec. 25 after a six-night stay and we had a great time. I think (and this is just my humble opinion) that people read the Disboards about other peoples' experiences at Disney resorts and expect the same to happen for them (the good stuff anyway, like towel animals, special "treats" for birthdays, etc.). Buckleybunch has a legitimate gripe about the no hot water situation and the rude CM and I'm sorry their family had a rotten time, but I'm glad to see that you're still going on your trip with an open mind. I went in with the same open mind, no expectations of anything special, and was pleasantly surprised with some pixie dust. Someone posted that the whole time they were at the Polynesian not one CM said "Aloha" to them in passing. Well, everytime I walked down the passageway or anywhere around the resort EVERYONE (CMs) was saying "Aloha" to us. Don't dwell on negatives...everyone has a bad experience at some Disney resort (or any other place) at one time or another, and everyone also has different experiences. I hope yours will be just as nice as ours was.
 
So sorry to hear about this horrible experience. The Poly is my favorite and we have never had problems with the water, but if we did-I would not let it go unnoted. Definitely write, call etc..make sure they know that cold showers are not acceptable! Cold showers definitely put me in a bad mood!
