Just Got Back From Wl And Was Upgraded

we just got back from WL and my husband and 2 sons 4 and 5 absolutley loved it. between the convience of the boat and the awsome lobby everthing about the place was undescribeable. we booked a standard room and were upgraded to a 2floor courview. we walked out of room to our patio and about 30 yards away was the pool! great when the kids needed a bathroom. room 1156 I Y RECOMMEND IT! any questins ask away!

1. Did you ask to be upgraded?
2. Did you eat at Roaring Forks, WCC or Artist Point?
3. Did you ride the watermice?
4. Did you visit FW? Chip and Dale Campfire? Petting Zoo?
5. How did your kids like the pool?
6. Did you get/request bunk beds?
7. Flag Family?

1. no we didnt ask.
2. we ate at WCC and it was great. no artist point we did eat at roarking forks the first day. we were not impressed at all b/c we were used to the food courts at the value which have a bigger selection. after a day though i forgot about it and was taken in by everything else.
3.no watermice. but we rented bikes.
4YES we did the campfire singalong. it was a great time.
5. kids loved pool. they could have swam all day.
6. YES we requested bunkbeds. they said that is why they upgraded us.
7. we were not a flag family. i forgot about it.

Im guessing our trip would have been differentif we had a room in a bad location. . everything was perfect. but then i thought how nice it would have also been to open up to the lobby. You could also see wishes from the boat dock AND DONT FORGET THE WATER ELECTRIC PARADE EVERYNIGHT! the place is just awsome. i thought i would want to try as many places as possible but no way. i found my disney home!

I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay at WL! I am looking forward to this trip so much I can't hardly stand the wait. We don't usually stay in places as nice as the WL but this is our first trip to Disney and we wanted to go as nice as we could. I think I am looking forward to the resort and dining even more than the parks! Thanks for the info!

WL is our favorite resort, and we've stayed in pool view, woods view, and standard view- no complaints on any of the locations, other than our pool view room being far from the lobby. We too like checking out other resorts, but we bought our DVC points at WLV, our fave!!

When you go make sure you eat at Whispering Canyon, the antics and fun of the wait staff will have you laughing the whole meal. I had heard stories about asking for catsup, but it was even more fun than I imagined!!

WL is MY FAVORITE resort after staying at MANY moderate and value resorts. You will love it, we had bunkbeds and were upgraded to pool view without even asking (it was awesome ), but it doesn't hurt to ask, if they don't offer.

How do you rent/buy points from DVC members? is it much cheaper than paying it the regular way?

Renting points from DVC members is easy. As a matter of fact there is a discussion board in the DIS Discussion Forums dedicated exclusively to DVC members renting points. We stayed at the Beach Club, Saratoge Springs and will be staying at WL at Christmas in a studio through rented points. The studio at the WL for Dec 19-21 is 13 points a night, I rented the points for $10 a point. For us this turns out to be whole lot cheaper than the $250 a night we payed at WL in June. Now the points go up a lot on the weekends.

I think it is worth checking into .

I'm re-thinking what i've done for my future WL trip in 46 days....
I reserved the honeymoon concierge suite, but maybe i shoudln't of and prayed for an upgrade when I got there!
Especially spending like $450 a night!! But it is my honeymoon, so I shouldn't be complaining! They can't upgrade everyone I guess...

Glad you enjoyed yout WL trip, and for all going the first time, you WILL be amazed. Someone mentioned watching WISHES from the WL boat dock,it's an o.k. view but an even better view is to simply walk out the front door to the driveway.parking lot. The view is much better.

We stayed at WL in 2003 and loved it. We reserved a standard room but asked for a Woods View room through our agent, Dreams Unlimited, and we got upgraded on arrival. At night, we were able to watch the fireworks from our room - awesome! We were on the 5th floor. I had read about the views of the castle on the DIS and we were so happy DU could get it for us with out paying the extra money. It can't hurt to ask!

We loved Whispering Canyon too, and were underwhelmed with Roaring Forks. The food is good, there's just not much selection. But after staying at ASMo, here's my best comparison: At WL, you just go down the elevator to get to Roaring Forks - very simple. At ASMo, you had to walk from your building to the main building to get to the food court. Not as easy, although the selection was much better. I probably wouldn't get a refillable mug again at ASMo, but definitely would at WL.
