We just got back from WDW and I wanted to share how much I thought the way the restaurants dealt with the GF/CF diet was wonderful. I even saw an improvement in just one year, as we were there last August. Last August when we asked for the chef, it would take a really long time. This year, I believe since they are now asking about food allergies when you make you ADR, the chef came over immediately.

Some chefs were more accommodating than others, but we always ended up with the right food for our kids on the GF/CF diet.

The chef at the Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge was fabulous-- he made us some GF/CF corn bread.. the kids devoured it. The Liberty Inn at the MK chef was also very accommodating. He basically made my daughter exactly what she wanted, even when it wasn't even on the menu for kids.

At Chef Mickey's we got GF Mickey waffles.. but they didn't have dairy free butter!?! I didn't think the chef there was as willing to accommodate. Thankfully I brought some Smart Balance butter packets with me that I pocketed from the Liberty Inn, where they brought it out with a basket of GF rolls.

We were appreciative that all the restaurants are aware and so willing to help. But we also learned some places are much better about it than the others!

Thanks for posting your experience!!! I have been looking for all the help that I can get with this for our upcoming winter trip!

I am sleeping much better finding posts like yours!! So thank you for taking the time to post!!!
