So I'll be hanging out here for a bit!

This will be a quick 3 day trip to celebrate our 10 year anniversary! :)

Hope you don't mind me hopping in and asking some questions.

We had DL season passes for 4 years while we lived in the bay area, but have not been in several years. We are excited to get back to the west coast "Mouse".

I always told my DH that I would love to go to DL without the kids, but I would feel sooooo guilty. Need help on curbing my guilt, LOL.

I just was talking about the same thing... guilt. :)

My DH said the only issues he would have is standing in more lines becuase we won't have kid swap :) LOL We just took them to WDW for 7 days that will help curb the guilt. hee hee!

I told him last night that we should not tell them where we are going and then one day years from now when they are looking at the scrapbook from the trip they will wonder where in the world they were :) LOL

We're in the same boat. Seriously considering a kid-free DL trip for our 15th anniversary this year but feel bad about leaving the kids behind. LOL

DH and I are kid-less (not so much by choice, but the way the cards have landed). I go to DL at least once a week and LOVE it. I believe that we experience a completely different DL than that which our friends with kids do. We do things those with kids never do, we do what WE want, and we even take time to just sit and enjoy the world passing by from whatever spot we happen to pick. Disneyland is great as "just" adults.

We went to WDW last October for our 10 year anniversary. We had an amazing time. I cannot count how many times I asked an adult who was clearly familiar with whatever Park we were in on that day, "As an adult WDW-regular what do you like most?" only to receive the reply, "Oh gosh, we don't really have favorites. We just do what the kids like." I was so sad for them.

Disneyland is a lot of fun for adults. Enjoy it for YOU. It's a great place!

Disney Dreams, I totally agree with you, most of the years we had our DL AP's we were kidless :) It's just as fun for Adults! :)

We plan on doing a kidless DL trip in August for my 40th birthday. I don't feel guilty about it at all. ;) We take the kids all the time and I really want to do some of the things that we would never dream of doing with 4 kiddos. There is nothing wrong with enjoying adult time with your hubby. Have fun! :)

We are going for our 20th anniversary without the kids in June. They are teens and they understand. Plus we took them last July and this Jan. We are looking forward to taking our time to try some different things we are usually too "commando" to do. :rotfl:

I also have to add when our twin boys were 2 years old they went to Grandma and Grandpa's for a few days and we went to Disneyland by ourselves. The first time we took them they were almost 7.

My wife and I did a kidless anniversary trip Nov 2007 to WDW, 8 days in Orlando and 3 day disney cruise. We were so excited as we are disney nuts but to be totally honest we enjoyed disney alot better with the kids.
I guess just seeing their reaction at disney (ie. seeing the characters etc) and their excitement on their face is what we enjoy and without them the trip was lacking something. Now on the Disney Cruise I felt a little guilty because we did not miss the kids at all. We are doing a family trip to
Disneyland, we leave in 4 days and my wife and I are totally excited as our 5 year old twin boys have never bin so we are looking so forward to seeing the excitement on their face for their first time to the magic kingdom

DH took me for my 40th birthday without the kids and it was great!!! There were a few (very few) guilty moments when we were standing in a very small line, but that was it. It was sooo fun to see DLR from an adult perspective. We have 4 DS's and two of them are little so the little cool shops are not on our agenda when we go with our kids. We went into the jewelry shop in NOS and the crystal shop, we wandered through the artwork and only went on the rides we wanted to go on. I highly recommend going with your partner and enjoying the magic of Disney as adults at least once. We would do it again, but we love, love, love going with our kids - so maybe we won't do it for a while. :upsidedow
