What a weird day! My DD's and their friends (9 of us in all) wanted to go 'gate hanging' at the BBC so that they could see Son of Dork (James ex Busted's new band) go into a recording of the TOTPs - they are too young to go in - have to be 18. But after the audience went in someone from the TOTP team came out and said we could go in as they were really short of audience members. I kept saying to the camera man don't get me in the film but he put us in one line along one side of the stage so I don't think there will be any missing us. Son of Dork had to walk past us to get off stage, they all said hi to the girls and James shook all their hands (they've all said that they're not washing their hands) and the drummer gave them his drum sticks (my DD's are sharing one). I can't believe it appearing on TOTPs at my age and the girls are over the moon.

Were you the oldest swinger in town Jan? :rotfl2:

How fantastic for the girls that the band all acknowledged them :cool1:

Whe will it be on TOTP and what were you wearing, this I've got to see

Yes I was the oldest swinger in town although there were some 'older' people there which surprised me. Hopefully it will all look pretty dark when it gets shown next Sunday. I was wearing a pink polo shirt and black jeans - remember we were only going gate hanging not appearing on tv. My DD's kept telling me to stop shouting so loud. It was a real good laugh. :flower:

Just watched TOTP....and saw some of the "older" people. Maybe, after all these years, its time for me to make an appearence :cool1:

Your DD's and their friends must of loved that. :cool1:

Sound like a fun day out!

Please remind us next Sunday so we can look out for you

:cool1:

Jan, it sounds like you've had a great day, but don't fool us with your 'I was there for the girls' ... I think you wanted to see Son of Dork too :rotfl: :rotfl:

OK got to admit that I've had a soft spot for James Bourne since he popped round our house last August. My youngest DD (Busted's biggest fan) ordered a vest top for our holiday to Orlando from his clothing company and was promised it would arrive before we went. Despite numerous e-mails she heard nothing. Then we got a phone call asking would somebody be in on Saturday as it was going to be delivered by James. We didn't tell our DD because we thought it was a wind up - but no. He was so down to earth and chatted away about all sorts of things including WDW. My DD was so stunned that I ended up doing most of the chatting. The girls refer to it as the 'the day James came round and got chatted up by mum' lol. He signed a pile of CD's and we took some photos. Yup a day to remember. :flower:

How cool is that Jan? Every girls' dream I reckon :)

That's a great story! My favourite bands never come round to deliver t-shirts when I order them, saying that I think Brian May would be on permanent house call duty if they did that!

I was chatting with a mate on Thursday and he told me that one of our mutual friends is writing songs for Son of Dork at the moment. Should be interesting to hear as the stuff on his album last year probably wouldn't sit well with a band called Son of Dork!

Queenie, what a small world - you must let us know if you hear any gos. On the subject of small world every since yesterday when Goofyish posted about the possibility of being played "It's a small world" while waiting to make ADRs guess what I've been singing. All together now ... "It's a small world after all..." :rotfl2: The sequel to the story is that being a well brought up person I e-mailed Sic Puppy (the clothing co.) thanking them for the experience and it ended up on their website in feedback and to my knowledge is still there. My DD was SO embarrassed.

Bless what a nice bloke - he was always my favourite member of Busted! :flower:
