Just Got Back from the World

WOW!!!!! The World was amazing! Weather was great, the crowd was another story but besides that it was just amazing! SO much fun fun fun and so many Canadians! It seemed every second person i talked to was from Canada! Go Canada GO!!!

We were there at the same time and like you ,we thought the crowds would be less (because US kids going back to school earlier),but, unfortunately that was not the case. I have never seen as busy as this in all the visits we,ve made. I'm guessing its the benefit of the dining plan that is attracting a larger crowd.

We booked at last minute trip and stayed at the Grand Floridian January 1-5. On Wednesday that week, DW was talking to a CM at AK who told her they had twice as many people through the turnstiles that day as they were expecting. Part of the increased crowds might be people who did what we did - we had originally planned a ski vacation in Stowe last week, but when the weather turned rather un-winterlike we cancelled and booked at WDW.

That's why we stayed at the GF - we had all these points in reservation status from our DVC exchange into Stowe that we had to use them at a non-DVC resort. Personally, I'd never pay cash to stay at the GF. I'm Scottish...
