It is a beautiful place, but I could never live there.
I loved seeing so many historical places that I've heard of and seen pictures of, but never got to visit first hand. I loved being able to be in some place incredible with some of my very closest friends. I LOVED the smart cars, if only the US could switch over completely to these cars and smaller cars, they are so friendly to the environment, well more so than everything we drive... but it doesn't seem we will be giving up our Hummers and Jeeps any time soon, unfortunately. I hated the fact that everything seemed to be in military time, i was finding myself at a loss as to what time it was all the time... ( Is all of Europe like this? Or just Rome? I felt rather lost.) I hated switching over from the time change, I hated how crazy some of the people drived, it was as if that lanes didn't exist, no civilians could pass, and no stop light meant stop... it felt worse than New York. Pasta and Pizza got old rather quickly, I must say I was very happy to come home and eat an in and out burger. It was very interesting to see how expensive and inexpensive some things were compared to the U.S. For instance a small bottle of coke almost anywhere I went was probably 4 euros in comparison to 1 to 2 dollars or less in the U.S. The fact that many stores don't open until after 12 or much later and close early was interesting. The cobble-stone feet is not ideal for marching on. :rolleyes1 People in Rome had never seen a marching band, they were taking pictures of us and taping us like crazy, that was pretty neat to me, to think that people thought of us as a 'cool' attraction. I will post more information about my trip later on, perhaps even some pictures of places that I had the opportunity to visit.

We actually marched in this little town right outside of Rome called Frescotti. I think I spelled it right. It was a very cute little town. I'm sure you will love Rome, plus I am sure it will be MUCH warmer in march. I will post the pictures later tonight, when I get a chance to upload all the pictures.

Glad to here you had a wonderful time now it would only be better if i was there with you

Things were cheaper? Thats weird, atm the dollar is pretty weak :)

Rome is amazing =)

I don't go there much but EVERYWHERE in Italy, we drive insane, so it's better to take a car than walk, because you'll be waiting for a while to cross the road. Motorcycles are not a good idea too... I'm used to pasta and pizza, but we don't eat it all the time. We're having rabbit tonight, and for lunch we had cotechino and polenta. I have never seen a marching band in Italy, maybe there's some.. but I'm not sure. I think most of Europe uses military time..

Rome is gorgeous <33 I think everywhere in Europe they drive crazy. Its just the way of life, you get used to it after a while. And there is soooo much more than pasta and pizza! But Italy does have the most amazing pizza ever. But sounds like you had an amazing time, and i'd love to see pictures!

Ps. it can be freezing in Italy in March. When I went in March it was like winter coat and scarf and gloves weather. and it was really rainy. except in capri&sorrento, they had gorgeous weather <3

I would LOVE to go to some place like Rome for marching band. Instead we only go to Disney. With my schools marching band luck, our plane would crash somewhere over the ocean..

I've always wanted to go to Rome or somewhere in Europe. The marching part sounds really fun, I wish my marching band could do that. We only get to go to small places around 6 hours away from where I live, but that's probably because my band is too big, the largest in the U.S., and then there are a lot of factors involved. But we get to go somewhere probably around every 4 years, so every senior year is a big trip. But it sounds like you had a great time!
