I am back from my trip to Disney. My daughter and I just went down to Florida to take my mom who just turned 80 to a Disney resort.
We were going to take her to Epcot but it was very hot and she just wasn't up to it. She would not go in a wheelchair either.

We still had a great time. We went to the Disney Marketplace and had lunch at The Earl of Sandwich - very good!

My daughter and I went in the pool in the afternoon. Great pool at Beach Club.

We had breakfast at the Marketplace downstairs. They have bagels, pastries etc.

We had a room on the 4th floor facing the woods and we could hear the music and see the fireworks of Epcot! It was great!

We also went out on the dock at The Contemporary and saw the Electrical light pagaent and watched the Magic Kingdom fireworks! Beautiful!

We ended up having dinner at Chef Mickeys. I wasn't sure how things would go but my mom really enjoyed it. Everyone waves their napkins in the air and Chef Mickey comes out. They gave my mom a cupcake and candle to blow out as "Celebrate" music was in the background. It was a lot of fun.We got pictures with all of the characters. My mom danced with Goofy!
:)

I sure hope the midwest doesn't start getting that kind of heat.

Glad you were able to have fun with your mom. Did you get to any of the parks?

No we didn't make it to a park. We were only there for two nights and my mom wasn't up to going to a park.

We still had a great time. We were together and had fun!

A couple questions if you dont mind. We are planning our first trip to the Beach Club in July.

1 - What class of room did you have booked? We booked a standard. Also did you make any type of room requests beforehand?

2 - Was the Marketplace more like a smaller food court or something else? Is it open at all times or just breakfast? Also where is it located?

Thanks!

I can help with a few of you questions... The marketplace isnt really a small food court, its like a little area inside the beach club general store that sereves some food . They make sandwiches which we loved by the way, soups, wraps and salads. They also have desserts , a few bakery items and gelato. Also you can refill your drinks there and get snacks like patato chips and such. Its small not big at all.

I've always wanted to go and stay a couple of nights and not go to the parks. But those thrill rides just draw me in.

I love the Beach Club, though. The pool there is awesome.

Thanks for posting.

We stayed in a standard room - two queen beds. It had a little day bed (sofa) in the room. I think it worked out nicely for us.

I didn't request a certain room ahead of time. I just talked with the front desk when I check in. They gave me a room on the 4th floor, facing the woods with a balcony and we could watch the Epcot fireworks from there. It was great!

It was a little walk from the elevator though. So it depends on how far you want to walk from things.

As said in the other post, the Beach Club Marketplace has a little store with the Disney stuff, and a section to purchase food, milk etc. Then they have a counter service. There are a few tables to sit at inside and also can sit just outside in a little enclosed area with tables. Here is a sample of their menu.
