Just got back from AAA - one step closer!

I checked out AAA this morning for prices. Unfortunately, our first choice for resort, CSR, was sold out of the discount rooms. So, plan B is POR. They had rooms available. They don't break it down, but my quote was $67 less than the price for disney.com and it includes trip insurance and taxes. Trip Ins is $67 ea. I know, it's not a huge savings, but it was something.
What do ya think?

Also, has anyone ever flown Air Tran before? I usually fly out of Hartford, CT but she gave me a price for RT air out of White Plains, NY for $182. I thought that sounded pretty good, but I have never heard of the airline. I'm not sure what dh will think about flying out of White Plains. Anyone every fly out of there?

Sorry for all the questions, but I'm getting excited. We may just make it there this year!

You're gonna love POR it really is a great resort, don't forget to take the boat to DTD it's such a nice trip. AirTran is a good discount airline, you shouldn't have any trouble with them, $182 sounds very good to me for RT to Orlando. $67 is money in your pocket, we never get trip insurance, but if it gives you peace of mind that's all that matters. Have fun.

We have been flying Airtran for years. (At least 11). They are the first airline I check for prices. I prefer them over SW or Delta, the planes seem newer and much cleaner to me.

Does AAA discount WDW packages? I mean MYW+Dining, etc. I am thinking of using Dreams Unlimited, but if i can save a few bucks, I will go to my nearest AAA office!

AAA will book the whole package, but discount only the room portion.

I originally had mine with Disney, switched it over to AAA - and my TA saved me $300 right off the bat.....

That's a good price. I'm paying $198 round trip from JFK for Jetblue, and prices have gone up $40 since I booked in December.

They discount the room portion, not the dining portion. But if you want to book a room+dining you need to book through AAA. If you just want the room you can book through AAA, DU, or Disney.

On my list I got a miniature golf voucher, Planet Hollywood meal voucher- $15, Planet Hollywood Merch voucher, Sea raycer offer voucher ( I think that is if you buy one you get one free or something).

Those vouchers come from Disney's own packages.

What are the deposit requirements if you book directly through AAA?

And if you book room only + dining, do they require you to also purchase park tickets to book dining plan like WDW does?

If you have a car with you at Disney, take advantage of the Diamond parking at each park, it's much closer than regular parking.

You make your deposit the same way you would through Disney. And when you want to make a payment, you can just go down and pay it. It's not a big deal - I'm not sure if you could call and do it over the phone - I live about 2 blocks from my local office, plus they're open on Saturdays, so it's not a big issue for me.

When you go in, ask them for the Disney World 2008 brochure (it should have Minnie and 2 little girls on it) go to page 9 and there it lists all of the magical extra you get from AAA just for being a member and book through them.
