hi there, we just got back from 10 nights in anaheim...We had a blast on the trip, here is a short recap..we are a family of 5-me, dh, dd-16, ds-14, and dd-12.
sat, sept 15-----We arrived at lax at 9:45 am and were picked up promptly by goldenwest express(not that great), had a quick grocery stop, and arrived at our hotel around 11:15 am-HOJO-love it...great hotel and the staff was unbelievable, they went out of their way to help us with anything...our room wasnt ready so they moved us to another-building 4...our friends arrived a little later and got their room which was much bigger than ours..i went to the office and they were amazing, they moved us to a bigger room right next to our friends(space is an issue as their is 5 of us)..we went to mimis(favourite restaurant the whole trip) and downtown disney and just relaxed
sun, sept 16-today we went to knotts soak city and had a blast...great weather and tons of fun
mon, sept 17-today was DISNEYLAND..we used our early entry today..weather was warm and sunny and wait times were almost nothing...park seemed crowded but wait times were around 10 minutes, we hardly got to use fast passes as some werent even open..i think our ride count was aound 23 for the day...we did go to CA late afternoon....fun day
tues, sept 18-back to DL and CA for the day, again warm and sunny...crowds were even less than monday...got a few less rides in and did a couple of shows today and slowed our pace a little...another great day
wed, sept 19th-today was shopping day, we headed to mainplace mall and the kids spent a huge portion of their money(they all brought way to much, well over 500 each-and i mean well over-they saved really hard plus got some back to school money from me)...we enjoyed our day and got some great deals at great stores..today was mainly overcast and cooler-so perfect for shopping
thurs, sept 20th-Back to CA and DL, starting at CA...today is the day we got "dreamed"
...the kids were walking back from tower or terror around 10:30 am and were stopped and handed the dream fast passes...by the time i caught up to them, another lady was in there..my kids said she ran over and rudely stuck her hand in their in front of them asking for some...my kids couldnt believe how this lady acted, as she called her kids over and said "get over here before they are all gone", well, they got the rest and my dh didnt get one...the CM quietly told me she would be right back...5 mintues lately, she walks quickly over to me, and secretly hands me another...i guess she didnt want another scene....i didnt witness what actually happened, but my kids talked about this lady for days...anyways, this made our day, and it became all our rides....we get a regular fast pass, then ride noramlly(most waits were around 10 min), the use of dream fast passes, then the reg fast pass....made my a huge amount of rides, i wish we had kept count...great day, we actually stayed until close this day
fri, sept 21-today was a down day, mainly wander downtown disney, pool, and a movie in the evening...by evening it had cooled down and clouds had moved...the torrential rain began late evening and it was ugly out
sat, sept 22-relaxed in the morning, went to anahim market place in early afternoon-we did not enjoy our time here at all, in fact, we all felt a little nervous and dont know why...went into to DL in the evening, at this point the weather had cleared quite nicely...fireworks were cancelled, but we saw fantasmic for the first time and loved it....it was crowded, and we only did about 8 rides in total
sun, sept 23-today we rented a car and drove to newport beach, what an awesome day...we went with the other family and had a blast, it was warm and sunny...we want to go back again...in the evening all the "boys" went to a anaheim duck/vanouver canucks game and unfortunately the canucks had their butts kicked...all the "girls" went for a nice dinner at tony romas and then out to a movie...
mon, sept 24-our last day here, of course, back to DL and CA...We were all exhausted today...we met up with yet another family we knew that were there( we are from bc,canada) and spent a few hours with them..they had been there for a couple dayshardly done anything-arriving late morning, not using fast passes, well, we took them to rides they hadnt done yet and then my 16 yr old took them to CA-they hadnt even been over there- and gave them a tour and took them to many of the rides..my dh and son went to the starcade and my youngest dd and i went shopping around DL and downtown disney...we met up the other family and had dinner at mimis and then went back to pack...i think today was the hottest yet and for some reason, busy....when i left around 3-splash was like 50 minutes....
tues, sept 25-up at 3:30, at the airport before 6 am and flying out at 9...long day for us, only a 2 hr 37 min flight, but we arrive in vancouver and have to wait an hour for our shuttle, get to our motel to have our van die as we pull out on the street (apparently someone
left the ipod charger plugged in to the battery for 11 days)...luckily it restarted but died again, this time losing our breaks as we coasted into a dairy queen (thank God we were driving very slowly)...we call a tow truck who arrives to find our van is now okay, i guess that battery just needed a bit...we then rush to our ferry and make it, but do not get home until 6:30 pm...
We had the best trip ever and cannot wait to go back although i know remember just how much i HATE flying...
To anyone about to leave, i am jealous and have FUN
