My family just got back today from a 7 day/6 night trip at Hyatt Regancy Grand Cypress Resort. It was great, but the worst part of the trip was that it was raining every day we were there. Our longest wait was about 20 minutes.....for the hall of presidents.

The second part of this thread is about my crazy brother. He actually got an autograph from a couple of cast members. I never heard of this and the castmembers said they never saw it before. Just wondering if other people have gotten an autograph and if not, was my brother the first?

I think it woud be kind of cool for a scrapbook- maybe the CM who checks you in, your mousekeeper, CM's from the different countres in Epcot, definiely Art the Greeter.....

When I was a captain on the Friendship boats people (mostly children, though) used to ask for my autograph all the time. After I'd let them toot the horn or if I had the boat sing them Happy Birthday or something they'd almost always come up and ask me to sign their autograph book. It was really neat.

Last year we got 4-5 pages full of CM autographs. All the monorail drivers that was working when we rode in the front, the clerk at Tinkerbell's Treasure that helped DD wake up Tink, the paper guy at EPCOT and others. They seemed shocked that people would ask, but they were a part of making our trip magical, why not let them sign our book. We even went as far as taking a pic with them and DD and put that in the book too. I believe it made their day just as much as they made our day.

On our first trip my DD(15 at the time) was really tired at breakfast on our last day and not talkative. The waiter at Ohana's noticed she had eaten all of the pineapples from her fruit tray. He came out with a large bowl full of pineapple slices all with pretty little umbrellas in them. She immediatly perked up and asked him to sign her book. I still smile whenever I think of how great "Flipper" was.(That's how he signed the book)

When I used to work at the Hall of Presidents (HOP), I used to get asked to sign autographs all the time. People thought it was neat to have someone name "George" from the hall of presidents sign, since at that time George Bush Sr was president.

During our first visit as a family to Disney in 1998, we ate lunch at the Sci Fi restaurant in MGM and had the best waiter! DS was about 9 at the time and our waiter "Mikey" really paid a lot of attention to him which we thought was super. Anyway, we asked him to sign DS's autographer book and he was shocked we wanted it. I even had him pose for a picture with DS and the dessert creation "Mikey" brought to our table. It is one of my most memorable Disney experiences and even though DS is 16 now and can be trying (to say the least), I still remember that first trip, the look of sheer wonder and excitement on my son's face and a CM who made it extra special for us!

Last May, my DD8 took the Magic of Disney Animation tour at MGM. When the tour was finished, she asked the animator for his autograph. He seemed genuinely flattered (and surprised!) and not only signed her autograph book, but drew a small sketch of "Brother Bear", a character in an upcoming Disney movie!

Then, he got one of the other animators, an introduced him to our daughter, saying "This is the very bright young lady who wanted my autograph!", so DD got the second animator's signature also!

Without a doubt, the highlight of her trip, and her favorite souvenier.

On my daughters first trip to the world in 2000 she got an autograph from a CM in the land pavilion who made her a peanut butter sandwich because she could not find anything she wanted and was going through a peanut butter kick. The CM was from South Africa and was completely thrilled that she was asked, she filled the entire page and also wrote a segment in swahili (SPELLING?) It was so sweet.

In late May we attended one of the Star Wars Millionaire: Play It shows. The young man who was on the hot seat for a good long time was very entertaining (with the host), so when we saw him later in the day, I talked my son into getting his autograph. He was shocked but I think really liked the attention. So he wasn't even a CM, just another guest. :)

Getting CMs autographs or photos isn't that uncommon. If it's kids, it's common to see them getting autographs from just about anyone, especially at EPCOT (I know I've seen people getting autographs from everyone from the cashiere at the gift shop in Japan to the mime in France). Adults usually get them if they are a CM that went the extra mile or did a great job. Also, having them sign an autograph helps guests remember their name and they may send an email to WDW that says which CMS really made their trip a great experience.

Last April I asked the guy in Epcot riding around on a Segway for his autograph. He was surprised. It didn't get me a trial ride on the scooter, though.

Last year when I shattered my ankle I had someof the interpreters sign my cast as well as some of the characters. I still have the cast.

My DS asked the bellman at TOT for his autograph our last trip. Actually we had seen him on the Travel Channel and talked to him about it. He was thrilled; my DS was thrilled!

:D  :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc  :D

I asked Auntie Clare (Prime Time Cafe) to sign my autograph book last December...we adore her. :)
