Just got back...and i think i am buying DVC!!!

Tracey ... How AWESOME that you are considering this ! You have put yourself and your DS in such a "good place" these days ... you should be very proud of yourself. :sunny:

We rented our first points this past Jan, and loved our trip. We are renting again in October. But for us, family of 4 with 2 kids that are the opposite sex, we decided in Jan that we don't see ourselves buying into DVC. We do love Disney, but as the kids get bigger, they won't be sleeping in the same bed, and I just cannot see DH or myself sleeping with one of the kids on a pull-out couch. That's not my idea of a vacation :rotfl2: I think our only option would be OKW where I believe they have 2 beds. Or spend lots of points for a 2 Bdrm for 4 of us ;)

We also happen to love the value resorts, and have had some pretty amazing rates over the years. Maybe someday we'll regret NOT having DVC, but I just can't get past this whole "who sleeps where" thing ... I guess we could bring an air-bed for one of the kids as they get older, but that just seems like yet another piece of "work" to have this type of contract. I'd rather check into a room with the beds already made and where they're supposed to be. I've tripped over an airbed when we took 3 kids and the youngest wasn't 3 but couldn't comfortably sleep in a pack-n-play -- 2 weeks at CBR and I just found the airbed to be a royal pain.

Anyone have DVC with 2 opposite sex kids ??? How do you work out the sleeping arrangements ? Not that I'm trying to get you to convince me to buy DVC :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Thoughts anyone ???

That would be us. We have DS16 and DD14 and the last time we went (December) we had a 2BR at BCV for a week. We have 330 pts and really like having the extra room the 1- and 2BR have over the studios. The second bedroom had twin queen beds which the kids used while DW and I slept in the master. If they ever get to a point where they don't want to sleep in the same room one of them (likely DS) can sleep on the pullout in the living room. And given that his circadian rhythm is such that he's up until 2:00am anyway, that arrangement may be the one which works out best. ;)

Family of 5 here 2 girls and a boy the girls sleep on the pull out and the little guy on an air bed even in studios it actually works out great. At OKW it would be even easier as the airbed would just slide under one of the queen beds and you don't have to deflate it ever until it is time to go home that is. Then the kids can just take turns sleeping on it.

Good Day,

We bought into DVC in 1992, back when there was only one DVC and the logo had three mountains, points were $53 per and we got free admission to the parks until Dec 99. Corporate downsizing reduced it to two mountains, added several additional resorts and makes us pay to get into the parks!
In any case, at the time we bought, our guide suggested using a credit card which offered reward points, either airmiles or credits or whatever. Following her advice we were able to get enough travel points for one free airfare to Disney from Ottawa for one person. Additionaly, if you make the appropriate arrangements with your card carrier, you can establish payment schedule to meet your needs. It worked for us and we have not regretted our purchase whatsoever.
