I spent a lot of time on the boards reading about fast pass+ and being off-site so I just wanted to put in my two cents have to just returning from Disney.
Are we stayed at Windsor Hills presidents' Day week crowd seemed moderate but not intolerable, as an off-site guest we obviously did not get to use the fast pass+ reservation system but we did get some fast+plus is why we were at the parks. We did the rope drop got two most of the big rides that we wanted to do before anybody else then went over to fast pass got some fast passes for some of the less popular rides and some of the character greetings. We find that this strategy worked well for us by the end of the day we managed to get all the rides and attractions that we wanted to get in.
It seemed that for a lot of cases that the standby line was way shorter than the fast pass line and in fact sometimes even though we had a fast pass we would still go with standby and then go back later and change the fast pass reservation
So all in all I did find the lack of being able to make fast pass+ reservation was a little annoying but it all worked out fine.
Another quick note is the last two days we actually did stay on site because of weather problems we weren't able to get out of Maine on the day we wanted to because of weather (a whole different story) we did extended vacation by two days, so for those two days we did get to have magic bands and we did get to make some fast pass+ reservations. The last day we were there we were unable to make any fast pass+ reservation on the app for some reason of the app did not seem to be working so even though I had the ability to still couldn't. So probably more than the fast pass plus thing the magic bands are the thing I miss most after having them they were super convenient and I certainly hope that soon offsite guests we'll be able to have magic bands because that was pretty cool and my girls really loved them!
