We just got back, we had a wonderful time. It was our first family trip. We were there 7 days. We did a lot, but of course didn't get to see everything. I was thinking of trying to go back over Christmas break. Of course DD9, DS9, DS7 are excited and would like to go back, but DH thinks its too soon to start planning another trip to Disney, although he enjoyed it too.
Do you think it is to soon? I know DH will go if I can save enough money by then. I explained to the kids that we will not have a big Christmas at home. They say they would rather go to Disney again and I want to go again so we can do the things we missed, and of course the things we enjoyed so much.
I also want to see Disney all decorated for the holidays and hopefully take them to the Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party, and Osbourne lights. DH says we have seen it on tv. LOL, I know I can change his attitude though, he mainly dreads the drive again. We are 1000 miles away, in Indiana.
I am also concerned about the prices for peak season though. When we just went off season we got good hotel prices. Also they will be out of school for break and we won't have to have them miss school as before.
But how crowded will it be If we go Dec 18th thru Dec 24th or 25th? We were lucky when we were there Feb 21-27. We were getting on a lot of stuff in just 5 minutes.

2 years ago we were there the 17-24 and it was PACKED!! Very very long waits, waited 40 mins just to get on the monorail at the Poly. This Dec we went the 13-18 and it was much better. If you can go earlier I would for sure.

Sounds like you have the Disney fever...we always get home and start planning our next trip! :)
Without a doubt, Christmas is the busiest time to go, BUT it is also the most magical because of all the decorations. I would go as early as possible in December because the crowds increase the closer you get to the holiday, which normally has parks that are closed because they are at capacity.

Good luck saving and planning!

You definitely have Disney fever...I assume everyone suffers from that once they return home from theirtrip:) I really can't give you any feedback since I am ony planning our 2nd trip but...

I am just wondering how your weather was this last trip and what were your exact dates??

We were their for the rains of May 2009 and our planning our return trip. I am obsessed with weather now because if we have that experience again my 5 yr old may experience PTSD. Our plan was Feb 2011 but now it seems that it was very cold and rainy so we are thinking of moving it up and we are also considering Dec 2010...Oh and we drive from Chicago suburbs so we are doing a long drive as well.

Glad you had a great trip!!! I never want to go back as bad as when we just get home!! It's really the worst time, you just can't wait to get back to planning!

Would you consider planning a trip for next summer instead?

Mid August is typically free dining, and Value Season as well. The parks are open early and stay open late. Yes, it's hot. But you're from Indiana; hot summers can't be much of a surprise. (We wimpy New Yorkers didn't have a problem with it the past 2 years.)

Airfares tend to be reasonable so the decreased spending time might not matter.
