Just got a rolling cooler and wondered if I could take it to water parks?

I got it for around home when I'm snack mom and I know I can't use it at the big parks but what about the water parks. Are rolling softsided coolers more acceptable there since coolers are more accepted there? It wouldn't be rolled around much, besides coming and going to the spot we park our stuff, so seems like less of a safety concern.

Sure!!!! Go up to the nearest food stand & ask for ice too!!! I'm sure they won't mind! But first, swing into a breakfast buffet & load up on some fruit!!! :rotfl2:

Hard-sided coolers aren't permitted. Soft-sided coolers might get some attention from operations (not security) staff, but aren't explicitly prohibited. Guests are not allowed to bring meals into the theme parks, so don't be surprised if you're refused entry if you have more than just drinks and small snacks in the cooler.

From the Disney website...........

Disney's Water Parks have quick service restaurants and snack stands with a variety of offerings. There are also picnic areas where you may enjoy your own food, however, please note that no alcoholic beverages or glass containers are permitted.

Note that this policy is for Water Parks, not Theme Parks. Your cooler will be searched for glass and alcohol.

I thought WDW did not allow anything that was on rollers that you pulled behind you. The reason is safety. If you are dragging a cooler behind you. people could trip.

Keep your cooler in your car, take a break from the park and go out and have a picnic. Really don't think the park is a place for a cooler. Where would you keep it when you want to ride a ride? See a show?

My advice, leave it in the car. :confused3

Yup, sorry, I totally missed that the OP was asking about water parks. My bad. There is definitely a different policy for the water parks, as Mike said.

oops! Missed the WATER part of parks. Sorry. We don't do the water parks so I can't be of any help. Have a great time!

I agree with the "anything on rollers" rule, but I dont think there is such a rule. The latest "fad" is bringing a rolling suitcase into the theme parks. You know the kind you take on a small weekend trip that fits in the overhead compartment of a plane. I have seen this numerous times, and it is clearly a safety issue. What all do you need for a day in a Theme Park?

As far as Water Parks go, I have never had a problem leaving my cooler under a picnic bench in the parks. We pack sandwiches, snacks, and beverages for a picnic type of lunch half way through the day. If and when the Water Parks ever start offering decent food, I may think about purchasing some, but generally the food at the Water Parks is pretty bad.

We went to TL in July '04 and took our rolling soft side cooler - we didnt take any glass containers, we did take our lunch and snack items, water bottles, and drink boxes... I think I maybe had some soda too - I remember reading where the "best spot" was, but darned if I could find it that day... I went in (they didnt spend long, I just opened the cooler, they asked, and we went in!) in towards the left - and then up some hills, and down some hills (we went over the wave pool!!! ) poor dh carried that cooler up and down lots of stairs!! then to the left.... so....

When you come in to Typhoon Lagoon, I recommend heading right - towards teh shark pool and pearl place in the back there is a shelter with picnic tables and lots of sand and chairs!! It did rain that day, and our picnic table was invaded by all those that needed cover, so it made for one big happy family!! I loved it!!

The only thing I did forget were towels!! I wish I had thrown some towels into my cooler instead we had to stand in line and rent towels!!

Wow, why so snarky?

FWIW, coolers and picnic lunches are permitted at the Water Parks, which is what the OP was inquiring about. There are even picnic areas set up for guests who choose to bring a picnic lunch. No glass or alcohol of course! II am sure a rolling cooler will be allowed, since you will be staying in one spot and not rolling it around all day like at a theme park.

Are you staying at one of the hotels? I have a rolling duffel that I fill with ice in the morning. It must be OK for the regular parks because I have gotten into MK with it.
