I have been refreshing last minute travel like a fool since yesterday morning and finally got in, and got 5 nights at POR for FREE!

They are doing this promotion today, then M-F next week. If anyone is on the computer all day like me, give it a shot!

I signed up for the "clues", but... waste of effort not ONE clue. LOL! I work at the computer all day, but don't really have time to chase that website and get my work done!

The "clues" were useless.
I just refreshed like a maniac most of the day yesterday & since 5am today. I did it manually without any of those refreshing programs. I think they are onto those and somehow blocking that.

Angie - keep trying! I think this promotion runs all next week too.

Carol - thankfully (or not, actually) I have a job that is very much hurry up & wait. So, I have lots of internet time. I did stay up til almost midnight last night though (and I get up at 3am for work). So, that was a bit crazy.

My sister wanted something for school vacation the third week of April. I got in for her and got an All Star, but then the darn site kicked out her credit card. She was on the phone with me and the video never came up for her at her house. Weird. Same thing happened to Chad in the 1am hour. They had clocks pop up twice according to everyone online, but he never got a video or anything at our house.

My sister is trying to get customer service to help her since we did input all the correct info (double checked about a zillion times). They told her to call back after 9am and speak with a manager. Fingers crossed even though it's a long shot!

I assume you don't get to know what hotel you got until you book?

How can you know you are getting a Disney resort?

I've never heard of this.

Sunny - plug in the dates and where you want to go now, before the clock is ticking. Look at the description and figure out which hotel it is. Disney ones are easy since most list their restaurants. Or go to the map. Click the eye on the left, then satellite view. You will then see which resort it is.

Also, when I was refreshing & refreshing my dates, about 14 properties kept coming up, incl. DVC and deluxes/concierge. When the clock was ticking, only 2 mods showed up. Not complaining - just sharing the info!

It's very hard to explain to people exactly what to do.

First off, today's 15 mins. are up. No more free rooms until Monday.

Secondly, go to lastminutetravel.com and watch the videos on the World For $1 page.

Third, skim the thread on the budget board all about this.

You have to pay taxes and a few fees right??? How much did those cost you?

Call me skeptic but what sounds to be "to good to be true" Usually is.

Stacie - my confirmation email says I am charged $0. I think the fees thing in there are for hotels that charge those resort or parking fees (like the Swan). As far as I know, no room taxes. I do wonder if you have to pay income taxes as if you won a prize though.

Also, there was someone on the DIS that got a GF concierge room for February. They waited and few days and then called Disney directly, and sure enough they are in Disney's system for that room, paid in full.

Now maybe that DISer was pulling our legs, I dunno. But I have found that usually people on the Budget Board here are alot more friendly & helpful than those on deals-type forums.

Personally, I think it's brilliant marketing. Yes, they have given away over 900 reservations. BUT, the traffic to their site now is outrageous. They can show these numbers to prospective clients. And none of us are going to forget their website or company name. Many people with these free hotel rooms are booking car rentals, flights through them. Look how much national tv advertising costs - running a crazy promotion isn't much different.

This is a reputable company. I know folks who have used them to book in the past....So I wouldn't worry too much if you can get the deal.

Thank you so much for posting about this. I was trying today and also was able to get POR for marathon weekend! I was so nervous when the clock started ticking. I don't think any of the deluxe hotels came up, but I can't be sure. I just skimmed the list fast and clicked on POR. My sisters are thrilled we're staying for free!! Maybe I can get them to pay for my park tickets since I got us the free room.
