Just got 1br VWL 12/22-26! Have ?

On a whim, decided to look at different dates for our holiday trip. Called MS this am and lo and behold they had a 1br at VWLfor 12/22-26 (they actually had the weekend too but we decided to move to WL concierge for the weekend)

I have only stayed in the lodge and am wondering what I should request for our 1br at Christmas. Any ideas? Thanks!!

I would ask for a pool view (that way you can avoid the dreaded dumpster view )

Good for you. I wonder if anyone was on the wait list and you beat them. The villas are great that time of year. Either I have not had the dumpster view or didn't notice. Have a great trip.

That waitlister would be me. We've been waitlisted for VWL for three months. Oh well, further proof that the waitlist doesn't really work as it should.

No hard feeling for the lucky OP though.

I was wondering about it. I had a discussion earlier about another topic and told it checked often during the day. The OP is lucky and I hope they have a great time.

Oh no! I hope I don't have something we're not supposed to. We are new to DVC and only tried to change some dates around since airfare has dropped for fares earlier in the week. It certainly wasn't our intent to take something that wasn't ours. I just figured that maybe some more rooms opened up with people possibly changing their trips to an earlier date to get free dining.

So far, we have had a lot of difficulty finding availibility for DVC (except for our DL trip this summer) and hope that doesn't get worse with BLT or we may have to rethink our decision. This will only be our 2nd trip on points and the first time away from our families for the holidays so we are hoping to make it special.

I do hope everyone's waitlists come through.

Oh, and I completely forgot that the 22nd was NOT available anywhere on property. We only have the 23rd-26th so maybe that might have been why we were able to get it.

We are on a waitlist for the 24th and 25th......

We have other arrangements so if it doesn't come through, we are okay. But, I guess I don't have much faith in the waitlist process.

You did nothing wrong. One of the flaws is the way the wait list seems to get filled or not. You followed the rules and good for you. We have our visit which is the first week of Dec and so we are not affected. It was comment in general. The times you got normally fill quickly. This time of the year it is very hard to get. Enjoy your stay and have a great trip. VWL is a small resort so it fills fast just because of size.
