It's called iExit and it's available for IOS and Android.
It Uses the gps in your phone ( or tablet ) to locate where you are on the interstate, and then it displays the shops, fast food and chain restaurants, hotels, rest areas and gas stations coming up on the exits ahead of you. You can also just search by state and interstate, if you want to look well ahead ( and test it out here)
I know we've often been barreling along the freeway and thinking we'd like to stop for lunch or dinner soon ( or a toilet stop! ) the app will let us know what options we have coming up on the next few exits.
You can also specify favorites and it will alert you if you're approaching an exit to a Taco Bell, or Applebee's or Hampton Inn etc.
I know our Tom Tom Gps will tell us the same thing for nearby locations but I like the fact that with this app we'll be able to see if there's a better option coming up further ahead.
Plus, I'm a sucker for any new travel apps!
