UUGGGHHH!!!! I just found a cheaper airfare for our October trip. I booked on Jet Blue from JFK to MCO way back in February figuring I would get a good price if I booked early enough. WELL, joke's on me. I just received an e-mail from American Airlines and their special has almost the same times as JetBlue but $360 cheaper. Now, when I called JetBlue to see if I could cancel, it's only $25/ticket to cancel, but they don't refund your money. They will give you a credit good for one year on JetBlue.

I'm soooo mad at myself.

Has anyone else had this problem? Can anyone commisserate(?) with me? I feel like such a dope.

Pulling my hair out in NY.

Have you asked if they have any fares that match the competitors? Or what their current lowest fare is? Good Luck, and be persistant. Never hurts to ask a couple of times. I have been watching my air fare going up by 100.00, but hoping that when independence air starts full service, it will open more competition. Also for your next trip...Independence Air is going into Stewart, and I believe Southeast already flyes out of there...(just to keep in the back of your mind) I think it might be equidistant to stewart/newark from westchester. Good luck.

My mom is flying down from Syracuse to Orlando and her airfare has gone down twice and I call back and they give her a credit for a future flight. Best thing to do it keep watching to see if your fare goes down and get a credit. It is better then nothing! Hope it helps some.

Not that this will help right now, but when you book nonrefundable tickets.... STOP LOOKING!! You will just aggravate yourself if you find a lower price that you cannot use! .........P:p

You're right PJLLA...I should stop looking. But JetBlue just had a huge sale and of course, my flights are not included. OH WELL....I'm just happy we're going.

The exact same thing happened to me. I called yesterday and got a $180.00 credit. I really wish I could have gotten the money back but hey now I HAVE to use that credit for another trip. OH WELL, I was pretty mad too.

ata is having a good sale 3 of us for just over 500 arriving early and late flight back

Ended up with $300 credit on SWA when I rebooked from $175 RT to $115. Luckily I found some other people who were getting tickets and they used my credit and gave me the cash. Don't know if you can do that with other airlines but it took a load off my mind about how I would use that credit by next June although I was sevretly saying - hmmmm another trip, another trip - yes. I really am happy about having the extra for other things while we are there this time though.

When I first starting checking fares for this holiday American Airline's were in the 600 - 800 range flying from the islands thru Puerto Rico to Orlando. So we booked with Spirit even though it meant a looong layover in Puerto Rico and got much better fares. Then the other day I decided to check to see if we could get a better time AA flight into Puerto Rico so we wouldn't have so long to wait for the Spirit flight. WELL!! The AA flight from PR to MCO has gone waaayy down AND if we'd booked it we would be landing in Orlando at noon instead of 5:30pm. I called Spirit but our fares are non-refundable and I really can't afford to get a credit on the odd chance of using it within a year.

Hey Sandy Feet,

I hear you!!! Loud and clear. I just don't have another $400 to shell out after I already have $800 invested with Jet Blue.

The only good thing that I did ahead of time is reserve a car. I have a minivan for 1 week at the rate of $320(that's including all taxes, etc.). I can't even come close to that now. I could if I wanted a mid-size or smaller. So, I feel good about that one at least. :D

I may make another call to Jet Blue, but I've checked on the internet and the flights that I have will cost me double ($1600) now, even with their big sale.

TTFN,
Maria:smooth:

I booked months ago with Jetblue, 79. each way, for Sept. My flights have not gone down lower, but RT on other airlines have been cheaper. I am the first one to grab a good bargain, but I have never flown an airline as reliable as Jetblue, so I'm trying to ignore all those cheap flights on other carriers. I think extra spent on Jetblue is worth getting to WDW on time (have had hours worth of delays on other airlines), so my $ is well spent. Besides, I still only pd about 175 RT pp. Not too bad....

True, I'll have to remind myself about the money saved by booking the rental car in advance and without using any discount codes. Even with the discount codes now, the rate is not as low as we have.

i agree just find something that you can live with and want to pay and leave it alone, i found 3 under 500.00 total and i took it got the arrival and depart times i wanted so i stopped looking cuz i would make myself mad
