Just for fun - What mundane Disney things are scary?

It's got to be Dinosaur -- I'm 35 and that ride creeped me out! My DD age 8 is EXTREMELY creeped out by the automatic flushing toilets!

AstroOrbiter for me. I don't do well with heights, and have to close my eyes when the doors open on TOT, so I have never even been on AstroOrbiter.

DH says IASW, because of the earworm.

Ciao,
Mort.

My poor nieces (4 & 3 at the time) were scared to death of those huge blow up dinosaurs that walk around near the games in Dinoland at AK. Of course it didn't help that one of them came over and roared and lunged at them!

i was (and still am) toatally TERRIFIED when we went on dinosaur on went on it with my brother and sister (who were 6 or 7) who sat in the middle, my best friend on one side of them and myself sitting on the side with the huge dinosaur we get stuck next to! (i thought it was on the other side) and some comments when we got off the ride...

"melissa! you were louder than the dinosaurs!"- i forget who said that

"mommy! daddy! melissa was screaming!"- lil sis ( i don't normally scream on rides. thats why she said that)

"dad, guess what! i wasn't even afraid of the dinosuars, and melissa was holding on to me really tight screaming like an angry baboon!"- lil bro

I'm always afraid of getting hit in the face with something on Space Mountain. I always make my DW put her hands down because she insists on riding with her arms flailing about.
I keep thinking...all it would take is a few loose bolts on a piece of steel sway bracing for it to fall into the ride vehicles path......
I can't go on. I'm getting nervous just thinking about it.

My DD (6) had been in the Haunted Mansion many times and was never scared of it. However, when we attended MNSSHP last year for the first time and rode it at night she was scared. She didn't want to go in it again during the party and even when we visited MK during the day later in the trip she was unsure if she wanted to ride it again.

oh my gosh! you reminded me of this one time when i went. once on e- night we wanted to go on space mountain but we couldn't because it was closed down for some reason and we were all like "why is it closed??? it was open the other night!" then my dad told us this scary story... " it's closed becuase someone was putting there hands up on the ride and they were going under another part of the roller coaster track and his hands got cut off! but the people working there thought he was screaming just becuase it was a fast roller coaster and they coldn't see because it was dark . then his bar came undone and the ride was slowing down so he thought it was over so he stood up, but the ride wasn't over! so the ride got fast again and his head got chopped off! so they are insidecleaning up all the blood." i was was like OH MY GOD I AM NEVER GOIONG ON THAT THING AGAIN! and then my dad said... (bum bum bum) JUST KIDDING! i was like! oh my god!!!!!!! but i ended going on it again anyway.

My AP renewal bill.:scared1:

But seriously, a large crowd crossing the bridge in front of CP. I am not clostrophobic. But I am at that time.

Another one for Dinosaur!!! In June my DD finally convinced me to go on it again (well, she won a bet and I had to!)
Anyway......it broke down just as we got into the "time-transport" area. They had to turn the lights on and we got to walk through it with all the lights on. Pretty cool.....but I still won't go back!!
and I won't be making any more bets!

:earseek:
The clowns in Spectromagic remind me of Chucky...creepy! Maybe they should change the orange/red, bowl cut wigs?
OMG!!!! YES!!!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:
I think that is why I don't like that parade!!

I don't like the evil smiling faces of the animatronic guys in some of the attractions. They are too "lifelike" and they scare me. The ones in the Pirates, for example. I imagine them coming to life after hours. Too many Steven King novels as a teen, I guess.

No "scary" thread is complete without a mention of the scary-clown slide from the Boardwalk Inn pool. The leering clown is bad enough, but the slide itself terrified me -- I will NEVER go down it again!

I also recall that as I child I was scared not only of the Snow White ride, but also of Mr. Toad. The skyway also scared me as I am afraid of heights. Gosh, who knew what a scary place WDW could be?

There's one audio-anamatronic guy on SSE that completly creeps me out! He's towards the end working in the printing press- there's just something about his eyes!

I know who you are talking about and YESSSS he is so creepy!!!

Edited to add: Yes the Spectro dolls CREEP ME OUT, the way their heads go from side to side and the wigs...yikes

um i have to agree with everyone on all of your suggestions but i can't decide beetween dinosaur and ummmm... dinosaur! that is not what i call a smooth ride! it is all over the left then the right then somewhere else! it's so jerky it hurts my neck sometimes! but i go on it to give my heart a a good waking up!

The fact that they changed from lapbars to seatbelts on TOT really unnerves me.

I used to find it very comforting to be able to grab the lap bar and hang on tight.

But, now, with just a seat belt, I don't have anything in front of me that I can hang onto. And I'm afraid that if I hang onto the seatbelt, I'll somehow pull it loose. Oh, and I'm Pooh-sized, so it takes me a bit longer to put on a seatbelt, and I'm always afraid they're going to start the ride before I'm buckled in.

Phew! I'm glad I got that off my chest...

Definitely the toilets scare my kids!! For weeks after our first trip when DD was 3 everytime we went to a restroom in a public place she would ask over and over if it was going to flush on her!

And those blow up dinosaurs in DinoLand are CREEPY! Our 2 yo freaked at those and he likes characters. His older brother was traumatized completely and we didn't even go near him.

For me, it is all of the playgrounds--the dinodig and the shruken audience one or whatever. There is no way that two parents can keep track of three kids at all times and I am always totally paranoid that someone is going to abscond with one of my children.

Wow! Thanks for replying. I laughed and nodded a lot. But I'm still trying to find someone who is afraid of the monorail.

This is gonna sound really weird, but every time after we go to WDW I wake up in the middle of the night in that sort of half awake/half asleep mode thinking I am in my pajamas stuck on a ride in the dark, and no one is there to let me off the ride. It's the weirdest thing ever! Then after a minute or so I figure out I am just in bed and go back to sleep. Sometimes these dreams even start while we are still at WDW! Now, that's kind of psychologically freaky, huh? I mean, imagine yourself stuck inside of Snow White's Scary Adventure by yourself in the dark or in the middle of Space Mountain in a stopped car, and there's nobody around. :scared1:

The big fellow who seems permanently wedged in the hot tub at POFQ.

Guys of a certain age in speedos, running across the parking lot at Blizzard Beach, body parts flapping everywhere.

The "stinky" monorail.
