The other staying in the castle thread got me thinking...

If I were to win a drawing with these options, which one would I choose?

Staying 1 night at the castle

vs.

50pts at GFV (maintenance fee NOT included) for the life of the contract.

.... after much thought, I STILL can't decide.... :lmao:

Leaning towards the castle tho, just because I can't imagine any other opportunity to stay in that suite.

Which one would YOU choose?

cseca - I would pick the night in the castle. Only because I have enough DVC points for my travel needs. But the castle stay is priceless! Good question though. popcorn::

Easy: I'll go with the Castle. I can afford to pay for the 50 pts -- but there aren't a lot of opportunities for the castle.

I'd take the points.

I've seen the Castle Suite and it's very small. Once the park closes, you are basically trapped there until morning. There is a CM there if you do need to leave, but you can't just wonder out on your own.

Totally agree! 50 points could buy an extra night in an OKW GV every year for the next 45+ years.

OK, I'm gonna be the one that picks the 50 pts at GFV. I'd rather have 50 pts a year for the next 50 years than 1 night in the castle. :cool1:

Points. Now if I can walk about the park at take photos all by myself them castle!

One night in a castle would be pretty awesome, but its just one night.

The 50 pointer would be over 2200 points over the life of the contract. That's alot!

Or look at it like this... (I'm weird)

One night with a beautiful supermodel

or

50 years with my wife, who is beautiful, smart and funny.

I will play it safe and take the 50 years, on both accounts!

give me the 50 pts = 5nts bwv standard studio for f&wf in oct better than 1 night in the castle.:cool1:

you arent trapped if you can leave even supervised. according to an interview with someone that won a night stay during a contest a few years ago, he was told that his family could leave but would be supervised. they discouraged it but said they cant hold him there since he was on a vacation and all.

i think even a supervised stroll through magic kingdom when it closes or way before the park opens would be enjoyable.

Count me on the night in the castle list...

Sure 50 GF pts would be nice, but really it's not much different than winning $10K in a lottery -- enjoyable, but not life changing... (and no I'm not suggesting DVC charge $200/pt for GFV:scared1:)

Staying one night at Cindy's wouldn't change the course of your life, but the memories and pictures of that night would last your lifetime -- and I think making those kinds of memories is why so many of us are willing to reward Disne with so much of our earnings.

Castle

Of course, I stayed at GF once. Won't ever bother again and see no reason it should not be last place on the list of places to stay.

Points, have no desire to ever stay in the suite.
