Just for fun - best and worst meal you had at WDW

From our December 2015 trip:

Best: Be Our Guest Lunch - Braised Pork - SOOOO good!

Worst: Katsura Grill (Epcot Japan) - the combo beef/chicken teriyaki platter. Was so surprisingly bad, the meats had the pasty texture of cheap chunk light tuna. And they changed the sauce too - just tasted like thinned out syrup. I used to love it, even raved about it after our Sept 2014 trip. Now I probably won't ever try it again, it was THAT bad.

Best: La Hacienda's Costillas en salsa de Chile (braised short ribs) and the Queso Fundido. So good, going back in 30+ days!

Worst: Mama Melrose 2015 a fish dish which was awful. Ironically, that same fish dish in 2014 was one of the best

Best: Rose & Crown, which really surprised me. DW & I wanted to try a new EP TS restaurant & we'd never eaten at R&C before, so we decided to give it shot. It was so good. Loved the beer flight, the cheese platter, the salmon (with celeriac puree--yum). And the sticky toffee pudding...I thought I knew what love was, then I had the sticky toffee pudding....

Ooh, I forgot about RnC. Love this place! Bubble and Squeak and some Sticky Toffee Pudding and I am good to go..

Best
TS: La Hacienda--Parillada Del Mar
CS: Tangierine Cafe--Lamb Shawarma Platter

Worst
TS: Perhaps Rose & Crown, but it wasn't terrible. I have no idea what I ate. Edit: No, wait! Now I remember...it was at Coral Reef. I don't remember the exact dish, but I do remember thinking that a Lean Cuisine might've been better and certainly cheaper.
CS: ABC Comissary, absolutely miserable. It was some sort of a rice-curry dish that is no longer on the menu. Yuck!

To keep it fair, I'll put mine in two categories since the majority of my meals are QS & only a handful of TS/Signatures so far.

Best TS: Raglan Road

Worst TS: Tie between Biergarten & Teppan Edo

Best QS: Tie between Sunshine Seasons Salmon & Tangierine Cafe Veggie Platter.

Worst: Tie between the burger at Pecos Bill's & the one at Cosmic Rays.

From our Nov 2015 trip

Best Food: Bongos Cuban Cafe. I know it's not well reviewed, but I've been here 3 times because it was so good. I love the seasonings on their specialty skirt steak. It was prepared perfectly. Although Citricos steak was very good, this steak was better. And it was far better than the ho-hum BOG steak. Sadly, my DH is a picky vegan and was not impressed the options for him or his meal. Oh, and the Pina Colava drink at the Tambu lounge was outstanding!

Best Service: Citricos, and our waiter at BOG (not the hostess station though)

Worst Food: Hard to say, but I would say the food at many places we ate was adequate, but not outstanding, or particularly memorable. We enjoyed Pecos Bill, except the guacamole was awful, blended down with fillers and quite obviously mass-produced.

Worst Service: Everyone was very, very nice. No complaints about servers. Just a little irritated that we could not get Nachos mid-afternoon at Pop Century. Their meal-time selections are great but they have really nothing for mid-afternoon by the pool appetizers.

Best: California Grill. Atmosphere, service, and especially the food. I dream about the pork belly nigiri, and the salmon was the best I've ever had.

Worst: We actually didn't have any truly terrible meals, but BOG lunch was basically just okay. Lovely inside, CMs all wonderful, food was...fine. I simply don't feel the need to go back, at least for lunch. (Coke Zero + refills were a bonus, though.)

Our November 2015 trip was a non theme park trip!

Best: Morimoto's (best spare ribs and sangria in WDW)
Worst Paradiso ( this was lunch, food just didn't taste good)

Last trip was 3 day F&W trip in Oct. I had 2 icky meals. One was lunch at Earl of Sandwich. I got a buffalo chicken wrap and it came out ice cold. I can see this with a chicken ceasar wrap, maybe. But buffalo chicken, cold. Gross!!! Asked worker and was told that you have to request they put it through the oven when you order it. That same night we had dinner at Tony's for the first time. Blech!!!! And I don't mind American Italian like Olive Garden (loved Mama Melrose) but this place was gross. Had Chicken parm.

Best meal was all the booths at F&W. Loved Japan and Mexico (that I can remember off the top of my head). And then a lunch at Sanaa (always delish)...bread service and tandoori chicken or shrimp.

What was the best and the worst meal you had on your last WDW vacation? It could be onsite, offsite, QS, TS, Signature but one overall best and worst for your trip

This question comes up quite often.....

So I'll reply as I always do....
Pardon me, for I haven't read through all the answers, but

My worst: (which I'm sure is many of yours) TONY's---->:crazy2:

My best overall meal: 50's P/T......Love the atmosphere, the hijinx, the food actually, & definitely the PB&J shakes..YUM!

There are others obviously but this one always comes to mind 1st...:teeth:

Our last trip was to Disneyland Paris, and it's no wonder Europeans think we don't have taste buds, the "American" food they serve in their parks is absolutely terrible! Inedible I promise. I can't believe they call it "food" the worst meal was Colonel Hathi's Pizza Outpost. The best was Ben and Jerrys.

As far as our last WDW trip the best was, Wolf Gang Puck. The worst was Chef Mickey's. I honestly can't remember why we even went there again.

I feel this way every time I see the food people are eating at Liberty Tree in Epcot. It's a shame. Now, if they had things like what they serve at the F&G booth, it would be a Great Improvement!!

By far the best meal enjoyed during our last trip was Christmas Dinner at Victoria & Albert's. Each dish is a wonderful example of haute cuisine; even the amuse bouche could bring rapture.

We didn't have a truly terrible meal last trip. But, there were a couple of disappointing visits to usually reliable old friends, such as California Grill and Kona Cafe during our trip before that. Our all-time worst meal at WDW came years ago in the form of a last minute breakfast at Electric Umbrella. The term 'mouldy pancakes' now gives us fits of giggles. At the time it didn't seem so funny.

Best meal we've ever had is probably Shula's at the dolphin - I dream of that steak!

Worst is the coral reef - we had the poorest service ever there, the food was nice, but we were so put off with the service, I don't think we'd ever go back.

This one's hard because there are so many good ones! Here are my picks...

Best table service - Narcoossee's is amazing - the food , location, and service are all wonderful. Best non-signature for us is a tie between Les Chefs de France and Wolfgang Puck Grand Café. Both have great food and we love the atmosphere and service in both.

Worst table service - I'll join the masses and say Hollywood & Vine. It was dirty, the buffet was a sloppy mess, and the food was sub-par - much like Ponderosa. We'll never do that one again.

Best counter service - Flame Tree BBQ is always the big winner for us - we love the pulled pork sandwiches and the BBQ sauces! We also love Wolfgang Puck Express in the Marketplace end of Disney Springs.

Worst counter service - Electric Umbrella. We stopped there one night on the way out of the park because the kids were starving and didn't want to wait until we got back to the resort, and it was awful. The food was super bland and it was not very clean. Too much humanity had passed through there, if you know what I mean!

I REALLY appreciate this thread. It's genius. I haven't been to Disney since 1991 and with my foodie family I'm like a lost puppy!
Also, hey y'all I'm new here. :)

Best-California Grill. Ordered the wagyu beef strip loin and it was the best prepared cut of meat I've ever put in my face!

Worst-50's Prime Time. I just don't get the draw to this place. I can get meat and three style dinners in my home town better than this!

LOL! Oh man. We're from New Orleans I think we're going to have a problem with the "getting better food in the hometown" thing. I'm so nervous!

Don't sweat that! You will without a doubt find amazing meals that will be unique to your vacation experience. We have amazing restaurants here in Nashville as well, but we still find meals that surpass anything we've had here at home!

Best: Kona Sushi Bar, love the volcano roll
Worse: Spice Road, the food was subpar & the service was really, really bad.....rude
