Ugh! We started at 11:45 AM and it is now 3:15 PM. It all started with a rug, lol. MIL was throwing a perfectly good carpet in the dump, wall to wall only 3 years old. She said she hated it because when she vacuumed it left lines  . I was going to give it to my sister who is just starting out and DD, 14, started crying because she says we never keep anything we always give it away and help others. She has been asking for carpeting over her hardwood floor since we moved in 8 years ago so I figure why not. How long can it take?:earseek:  Yuck, the first hour emptying and cleaning up under beds etc. the kids all bickered and called each other names. Every time I needed DS, 15, to help us he was in watching the SOX play! Hmph:rolleyes: . Anyhow we just got finished and I managed to get my pack rat daughter to part with 2 bags of stuff. DD's are both very happy with their "new" room and you can see more of the beautiful paint job that DH did last year for her when she was at camp. 4 of them leave for camp a week from today and I usually spend the time cleaning their rooms. I am excited because this year I will not have to do this!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

Two bags that she knows about or total? I can only convince my DD6 to get rid of half a bag and then I send her off to do anything and then I get another three bags at least!

I thought I would post a reply, isn't it unbelievable when you clean a room and you thought your dd was being responsible for it. We clean and painted her room last year too and the things she accumulated in one year, good grief.

My dd leaves too next Sunday for 2 weeks. This is her 3rd year and she loves this camp. It is a YMCA camp in our Kettle Moraine in Wisconsin. Do you work or vacation when she goes to camp? I'm working.

dd 7 had to part with 3 boxes, one bag, to Goodwill, 3 bags of garbage - I cleaned her closet and went thru her clothes, all those darn happy meal toys, and pieces of her toddler toys!!

She yelled at us once (read a hormonal thread where I discuss this!) that we dont care about her, and how would we feel if she threw away something we cared about... ever since dh is paranoid when he cant find anything (and that drives me nuts!) so I make it a point to involve her... (and dh always finds whats missing, why is it easier to blame someone else?? I do that!!)

DD is PMSing today biggggg time so I only got 2 bags out of her, lol. At one point she left the room in tears and ran into the bathroom crying that we were all picking on her. Ummm  let's see, DBrother's loved spending a Sunday afternoon helping to clean and rearrange her and her sisters room. I have given her until Thursday to have her draws and closet done. That should yield 1 bag to Goodwill and 1 bag of trash I am sure, lol. When the kids go away this year I will be working as I was just out a week for Gall Bladder surgery. Next year though.....:teeth: Do I see a WDW trip in my future?????
