Well we made it. Saw alot, checked out some different hotels & resorts. We arrived a day early so we couldnt check in. Called CRO and was able to get into All Star Sports for a night. I have heard alot of negative comments about All Stars but dont know why. Our room was very clean, a little small but also quiet. We used this extra day to go get our Premium Annual Passes and visited the Magic Kingdom. Nothing better than the feeling of your fist day at WDW & the MK! The next day we checked into Vistana Villages. This was our first time staying off site. Vistana Villages is absolutely beautiful. Units are super clean an the view from bldg. 3 was great. Each unit is spacious and has a screened balcony with table & chairs overlooking the lake, fountian & waterfalls. The landscaping is awsome and kept up to the letter. I think Vistana will look good for years to come, it is only a year old and we saw freshly painted walks and building painting was being done while we were there. There are 2 pools and hot tubs, things for the kids. Free outdoor pool table, shuffle board & ping pong. Vistana also has a washer & drier in each unit. Really nice! We booked 6 nights and got the 7th free. This made out stay cost about $88.00 a night, cant beat it! I wasnt to sure about not having Disney transportation available but with wife in wheelchair we wouldn't have gone through the aggrivation of the busses anyway. We did use the boats & monorail. With the PAP we never had to pay for parking. The trip was very enjoyable and we bounced from park to park. We visited Sea World and took advantage of a great deal they have (unitil the end of April I think). You buy a one day ticket and they convert it into a pass good till Dec 31, 2002 at no charge. The week before Easter the parks got very busy and we spent less time in them. Restaurants ? cant remember them all but they were all good except for the wait of almost 2 hrs at Planet Hollywood. When time to come home arrived we decided to stay longer. We tried to get into a WDW resort with no luck. We did find a suite at Sheriton Safari, it was ok but kinda beat up. We stayed there 2 nights then got into Whyndam Palace at Downtown Disney. 17th floor with view of Downtown Disney, very pretty at night. Whyndam was ok but the same thing, things needing repair, lousy TV reception and a bunch of little things. Definately not WDW quality and overpriced for what you get. Next few nights I was able to get into WDW at the Caribbean Beach. I like this resort alot. It is a very relaxing resort and has nice lake views. We got a rate during peak spring break season of $107 a night with Disney Club. All of WDW other properties were full with the exception of the Presidential Penthouse Suiet in the Wilderness Lodge which I passed on. Don't know why I passed, could have been the $975.00 a night LOL! Oh well it was a great time, had fun, daughter got picked to be the hosts helper in Who Wants to be a Millionaire! Another thing we did this time which worked great was instead of daughter using her autograph book we bought a cloth womens hat with a big visor on front and a sharpie extra fine point permanent marker. Got loads of great autographs ! Oh Well ! we are home and already planning a trip for Xmas 2002 and possibly a short week in Aug 2002!!!!

PS stopped by the AP holders lounge in Epcot, very relaxing, complimentary beverages and watched Toy Story 2 in some very comfortable sofas & chairs. The lounge overlooks the Land ride in Epcot. What a treat after a day of walking in the heat. Hpoe they keep it.

Sounds like you have a wonderful time! That's a great idea with your DD's hat! Those autograph books can be a pain to carry around! I think we'll try it with DGD this coming October! Thanks for sharing!

we also opted for the hat and the autographs......worked out really well and my grandkids loved it......actually so did my husband ...he got someone to autograph his too.......thanks again

Thanks for the great report bigs:)

We'll have to try the hat trick in October;)

Appreciated your feedback on the Vistana. We have a back-up resy at the V resort & will stay there instead of on property if WDW doesn't release AP rates pretty soon:mad:

Wow !! Sounds like you had a great trip.... thanks for the report. Everytime i read a trip report it makes me excited for our trip.... only 18 days to go!!

15 DAYS! WOW~!!!!!! Sounds like lots of fun! (how'd you manage so many days off/away?)

We liked the Caribbean Beach alot. It is laid out nicely with groups of buildings named after different islands in the Caribbean.Althought it was running at capacity it didnt seem busy due to the physical size of the resort. There are about 6 pools one bieng near each grouping of buildings. They also have beaches near them where you can relax or play in the sand. They dont allow swimming in the lake but do allow the children playing in the sand to also play in the edge of the water. They have rental boats in the lake. The whole atmosphere is a laid back very casual. It isnt "dressy" like Boardwalk and the other deluxe resorts. They also sell the resort mugs for $9.99 and you can get free beverage refills for your entire stay. Hope this was a help, any other questions feel free to ask.

Can you tell me the exact dates you were at Cbr. We were there from 3/23-3/29 and we were told no disney club discounts at this time of year. Help- Dh is upset- it cost us $720 more than it coud have because of no discount, very disappointed with Disney Club this trip.

We stayed at CBR on the 29th & 30th of march. I booked the room on the 28th I think. I made the ressie by calling the Disney Club number. I was in the Magic Kingdom at the time and was on a cell phone. They guy I dealt with was very slow and told me there were no discounts avail at that time. I finally got the room booked after being put on hold a number of times. The total time for the ressie took 25 min. When I checked in they gave me a package & I went to my room. When we checked out the package they had given me it contained tickets to Wide World of Sports or a round of minature golf. I called and told them I wanted to book a room only and their reply was that since there were no discounts at thgis time they booked me a "Disney Club Basic package plan". They said this saved me over 10% off of the regular room rate for that time. I didnt check into it any further.

Sounds like you had a great trip. I really like the idea of using the hat for the autographs!

It does sound like you had a great trip! 15 days at Disney - I can only dream! I'm glad to hear you liked Vistana. I've driven by there many times and was curious - we always need a lot of room when we go to Disney but can't afford the bigger rooms on property.

I just stayed at a suite in Sharaton Safari from March 14 - 17 and it was awful. Not just beat up but the service was horrid.

Sorry to hear that Wyndam was a disappointment too. Try the Royal Plaza as an alternative next time. :D

Wow, two weeks in WDW. I am SO jealous right now. :p Glad you had a great time and dont forget to bring me next time you go for two weeks!

Sounds like you had a wonderful trip! Thanks for the post!
