Well we made it. Saw alot, checked out some different hotels & resorts. We arrived a day early so we couldnt check in. Called CRO and was able to get into All Star Sports for a night. I have heard alot of negative comments about All Stars but dont know why. Our room was very clean, a little small but also quiet. We used this extra day to go get our Premium Annual Passes and visited the Magic Kingdom. Nothing better than the feeling of your fist day at WDW & the MK! The next day we checked into Vistana Villages. This was our first time staying off site. Vistana Villages is absolutely beautiful. Units are super clean an the view from bldg. 3 was great. Each unit is spacious and has a screened balcony with table & chairs overlooking the lake, fountian & waterfalls. The landscaping is awsome and kept up to the letter. I think Vistana will look good for years to come, it is only a year old and we saw freshly painted walks and building painting was being done while we were there. There are 2 pools and hot tubs, things for the kids. Free outdoor pool table, shuffle board & ping pong. Vistana also has a washer & drier in each unit. Really nice! We booked 6 nights and got the 7th free. This made out stay cost about $88.00 a night, cant beat it! I wasnt to sure about not having Disney transportation available but with wife in wheelchair we wouldn't have gone through the aggrivation of the busses anyway. We did use the boats & monorail. With the PAP we never had to pay for parking. The trip was very enjoyable and we bounced from park to park. We visited Sea World and took advantage of a great deal they have (unitil the end of April I think). You buy a one day ticket and they convert it into a pass good till Dec 31, 2002 at no charge. The week before Easter the parks got very busy and we spent less time in them. Restaurants ? cant remember them all but they were all good except for the wait of almost 2 hrs at Planet Hollywood. When time to come home arrived we decided to stay longer. We tried to get into a WDW resort with no luck. We did find a suite at Sheriton Safari, it was ok but kinda beat up. We stayed there 2 nights then got into Whyndam Palace at Downtown Disney. 17th floor with view of Downtown Disney, very pretty at night. Whyndam was ok but the same thing, things needing repair, lousy TV reception and a bunch of little things. Definately not WDW quality and overpriced for what you get. Next few nights I was able to get into WDW at the Caribbean Beach. I like this resort alot. It is a very relaxing resort and has nice lake views. We got a rate during peak spring break season of $107 a night with Disney Club. All of WDW other properties were full with the exception of the Presidential Penthouse Suiet in the Wilderness Lodge which I passed on. Don't know why I passed, could have been the $975.00 a night LOL! Oh well it was a great time, had fun, daughter got picked to be the hosts helper in Who Wants to be a Millionaire! Another thing we did this time which worked great was instead of daughter using her autograph book we bought a cloth womens hat with a big visor on front and a sharpie extra fine point permanent marker. Got loads of great autographs ! Oh Well ! we are home and already planning a trip for Xmas 2002 and possibly a short week in Aug 2002!!!!
PS stopped by the AP holders lounge in Epcot, very relaxing, complimentary beverages and watched Toy Story 2 in some very comfortable sofas & chairs. The lounge overlooks the Land ride in Epcot. What a treat after a day of walking in the heat. Hpoe they keep it.
