I added on 2 separate 120 contracts. I received the 100 developer's points for EACH contract and those 200 total points are BWV (my home resort) points. This was great news since we will be doing our Disney vow renewal next year and now I will have enough points for my guests accomodations. I did retain the '04 points which are available for my use NOW and I also retained my June UY. I had thought about changing the UY on these new contracts, but was told that I would not receive all the incentives and I would have to purchase 150 point contracts. Jim McCoy is my guide and he just returned this morning from the Disney cruise. Mine was his first contract and he was more excited than I was....it was very funny :earboy2:

I wanted these extended use contracts to pass on to our future grandchildren. The first is due in May! When I purchased my 600 point resale contract about 4 years ago, I didn't think about not being able to split the contract, so these new contracts will allow us to give our children and grandchildren many wonderful memories at Disney. :cloud9:

Good for you! I am going to add on 120 points this week. The usual banking rules apply, is that right?

My guide told me I can't avail of 04 user point because I've a June UY. She explained that I couldn't bank them because of the banking rules and have to be used by May this year.

I'm now really confussed of this inconsistency.

My guide told me the same thing and basically that is what melanie was told too. I believe that is why she said her 2004 points are available NOW.
If you have a June UY, the 2004 points will have to be used by May 31, 2005. The banking rules will apply.
The 100 bonus points will be June 2005 points and can be banked to next year.

True...the '04 points will need to be used by May 31st. I see this as a good reason to take a trip!

The big surprise to me was that I got the 100 "bonus" points on both contracts.

We just purchased a 168 point add-on we have a December use year we also kept the 2004 points with no dues on the 2004 and the extra 100 bonus points. We can bank the 2004 points as long as we do it by May 31st. Thats a great deal 268 points for free. We had signed and sent back our contracts last week then cancelled to get the new incentive. Good luck to all who bought.

I'm guessing you bought 2 separate contracts with 120 pt each and with 04 points. So you have a total of 240 2005 points 240 2004 points and 200 developer's point, right?

I noticed on some postings that with add on contracts the DVC member is receiving 100 free points. Is this a one time deal ex. 2005 for a 150pt add on you would get 250; then in 2006 you would have available your original add on of 150pts? Also, how long is the free 100 pt incentive good for?

We've added on once already for a total of 425, but making plans to go home in July and realized how much we also enjoy going in November, but could use the extra points. :cheer2:

Call...You CAN bank them. I just did this last week with my add on. I have an APril use year and the points were to expire on 3-31 of this year. After posting and looking for advice, I was told that they will make an exception. They did...with no questions asked.

My guide also told me that they were not able to be banked....Not sure why they are not aware that we can.

Thanks for your input. Somebody mentioned here that this is a one time exception and most people would like to use that for emergency purpose later on if the need arise. Any clarification would be appreciated.

I have a Feb. Use year, so would I receive 120 2005, 120 2006 and 100 bonus or lose out because I have a Feb Use Year?

Yes you are correct. You would also not have to pay dues on the 2005 points (DVC pays them) or the 100 bonus points. Your points would be available for immediate use. The 100 would be manually added to your Master contract within 24-48 hrs of downpayment.

We bought 200 points in Dec and even then were not sure it was enough. We always planned on adding on when we could. We have another added bonus in our daughter-in-law. We were able to use her cast member discount of 25%, which made this offer even that much more attractive. We added the minimum 120 points.
Our use year is June, so we get 120 points for 2004, 120 points for 2005 and the one time incentive of 100 points. The 2004 points are available to us right away, but only 80 points are bankable ( by May 31st), and 40 points a use or lose by June 2005. We'll use them this May. We already had a short trip planned and were originally planning on staying with our son and daughter-in-law, but will now use some of the 2004 points and book our first trip "home". We are so excited!!!

I keep hearing different things here and from my rep!! My UY is Sept so if I buy the 120 points I was told that if I take the 04 points that I would have to pay the 05 dues. Either way they are only going to pay for 4mos of my dues prorated. Those of you with earlier UY's get a better deal!

Is it better to do a resale?? Not sure about all the costs. I'd rather do the deal direct with Disney, but I want a good deal that seems like some are getting.

Am I wrong in my thinking?? Some have stated no dues for 04 and 05, how can that be? We'd all be crazy not to take the 04 points. My rep discouraged me from that. Maybe I'm just not getting it.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

As far as UY goes there are pros and cons to early / late with this deal.

We have a April UY so we don't get the opportunity to get the 2004 points, unless we could use them in 2 weeks. But they will pay our Maint fees for April-Dec 9 months on our 2005 add on points.

If you have a later UY (Sept-Dec) you DO get your 2004 points, but they only pay dues for 4-2 months.

I don't know... I think I would like the whole new years worth of 120 points and "lose" the extra 5 months of dues that I would get.

From what I understand we are doing the 120 add on in April, so we would get
120 - 2005
100 - bonus
total of 220 with no maintenance fees.

It sure would be nice to be able to get a new later UY, and be able to get those 2004 points.

But, if I take the 04 points than I pay $90 per point as opposed to the $87 and I will pay for all of 05 dues so if I calculate it right it's going to cost me around $840 or more depending on the cost of the dues.

I realize that I could rent the points and make a little off the points. I've been thinking that maybe a resale is a better deal?? Anybody doing that instead? :rolleyes1

My use year is August. Below is a quote from an email from my guide telling me my dues will be paid until Dec 2005.

"If you get the pts from August of 2004 they would be $95-$5 for a total of $10800. You would need to be able to use the pts before August of this yr or bank them. You are now in your 50% banking window, so you can bank up to 50% of your grand total, providing you have not already banked any. We would pay the dues on your new pts and bonus pts thru Dec of 2005 and give you the additional 100 pts. "

I added on 120 yesterday and I am thrilled!

:sad2: No more April '05 use year for SSR - had choice of 1) April '04 - got (120) 2004 points but had to use points within next 2 weeks or loose them, DVC won't pay any 2005 dues, will get the 100 bonus for 2005 and it's $90/pt or 2) get a April 2006 use year, think I still get 100 bonus points but no SSR points until 2006. Not so Golden any more :(

Wow, what a deal if they do pay for all the dues from 04 thru 05. My rep said they wouldn't pay the 05 dues. My UY is Sept so I have almost the same window as you.

I'm going to call her back. What's your rep's name?? I love mine, but now I'm confused again. :confused3
