What determines the average life expectancy of one of these threads? Number of replies? Time since last reply? Amount of interest? And who pulls the plug when it's time? Thanks.

It depends on:

Who the OP was

What the subject is

What day of the week and what time of day it is

How many other people have already posted the same thing

Whether someone hijacks the thread thus turning it into something totally different than the OP intended and ticking everyone off. Those get a bunch of replies.

Whether there is some deep underlying meaning to the post that everyone on the DIS seems to understand but me
