Just curious?

HDDR is served family style. There is usually enough food to cover the amount of people at your table. You may need some extra items but they bring those out in smaller batches so there really isn't an excessive amount of food leftover. We go several times a year and I really can't see how the small amount of leftovers would be worth the effort for say a family of four, not to mention how you would keep that food safe in the Fl heat until you got back to your room. Also, many rooms now only have bev cooler and not real refrigerators. Go enjoy the dinner, drinks and show it's already a great value you don't need leftovers to get your money's worth.

Once we went to the expensive and hard to get "Enchanting Extra": Celebration at the Top, Sip, Savor, Sparkle.
This is an appetizer, open bar and fire works event at the Contemporary. People sitting near us BROUGHT IN
their very own brown paper bag of bread and a liter of Coke. They ate that at the event. They just reached into the
paper bag and pulled off a hunk of bread. I've never gotten over it. The things people do in Disney!

I got on the elevator at Jambo by Boma. There was a guy with bowl of chocolate chip cookies on it. Had to assume he walked out of Boma with it.

I’ve never seen anyone take any kind of food storage out of any buffet/family-style dinner we’ve ever dined at. There is always going to be someone slipping a goodie in a zip-lock bag, but nothing that couldn’t fit into a pocket.

I’ve rarely even seen anyone take “doggie bags” even where it’s socially permitted. People are either going on to the parks after dining, or going to rooms for the night, etc.

HDDR is a family style dinner, and well stocked with servers..I don’t know what they’d do if they saw someone pulling out Tupperware, but I’d think they’d say something.

There's a D list daily Disney vlogger who does very poor food reviews. He has stated that his family used to take large Zip Loc bags to the HDD to take leftovers back to their resort room.

That may be where this came from.

This has to be the most insane Disney story I've ever heard. And I thought the families making whole salads from the toppings bar at Pecos Bill to supplement the food they brought in with them were bad. Why even pay all that money and go to all that effort for such a hard to book event just to do that?
