What is the BEST discount you ever got at ANY of the WDW resorts? Please explain when the discount was (month & year), type of discount, and how much!!! This should be interesting...

best I've ever gotten was staying at CSR for the price of a value. We'd been there before and paid I think $10 off, but the second time we made reservations the CM just out of the blue said "how would you like to stay at CSR for $75 a night?"

That would have been our 1998 trip in December, 1-4.

Lets see....in July of 2001 we had "code" discounts from Mousesavers for a split stay

ASMU....$59 PER NIGHT
CR wing room standard view $134 per night

Decmber of '03 DOLPHIN $99 PER NIGHT ( even Christmas Eve ) Travelzoo rate

December of '04 Mousesavers again....WL woodsview 121 p night, Dolphin 129 rate.

Also had the "Fairytale" package in '03 ( August) where we stayed 7 nights and paid for 4...but I think the CR rate ws our best "score". Would LOVE to get that again!

In September 2005, we were thrilled to make a second trip to WDW (first one that year in May 2005) so soon, never mind just a few months later! :cool1: Anyway, we were able to go back so soon because we found a 40% off ANY Disney resort discount that we cold not refuse! We stayed at All Star Sports for $46 per night!!! :yay: :yay: :yay: DH is a Federal Government employee and we found this discount while looking to travel to PA or NH last fall! NOT!!!! Back to see Mickey is what we did instead! To make the deal even sweeter, we flew Southwest for $49/pp each way! :woohoo: :woohoo:

In Dec 02 we stayed at Poly for $179 a night. I found it on expedia. Haven't found anything that good since then!

In Dec'03 we got "displacement rates" at the Polynesian resort for the price of POFQ + $20 per night so we were around $149per night, right over christmas ........

Now I get 50% TA rates.IF they are available if not then it's back to the AP wait and see game.

Do Federal Employees get a special discount at WDW? I have gotten good rates elsewhere for this, but never at WDW.

I got CSR for $69.00 a night plus tax. This was back a few years when codes were in full force. I think it was April of 2002.

Over the years we've got many - many discounts of different amounts and sources. AP, AAA, etc.

Our best rate ever had to be when we rented points from a DVC owner on Ebay. 7 nights in a 2BR at OKW for only $900! :faint: ::yes:: :thumbsup2

In December 2001 I had an AP rate for the Grand Floridian - $199 per night.
In June 2001 we had an AP rate for the Polynesian - $179 per night.
In August 2003 - we did the Pay for 4, Play for 7 - this was at the WL. I think we paid $1700 for room and unlimited park hoppers. We originally had been booked at Caribbean Beach and the room alone there was $1700.

I think my mom got a great AP rate at ASMu in Feb. 2004 for $55 per night.

:chewy: :darth: :yoda: :hmghost:

:)

Our best deal was the "Fairytale" package in October of 2003.
7 nights for thr price of 4.
What a deal! :thumbsup2

In 2003 we got the fairytale package that if you booked 7 nights, you got 4 of those nights free. Then in 2005, I got a code attached to my name and we got CBR for $79.00 per night . Both deals were great and I hope in 2007 we luck out with great rates or a special package again.

In January 2003 I paid $378 total for a 4 day land/3day sea for 2 adults/1child staying at the polynesian. It was a glitch on the website :teeth: :woohoo: :teeth:

December 2005, AKL. We had 2 standard rooms reserved and were upgraded to Savanna view. We paid $79 a night, had a CM holiday 60% discount. Before that we had a room at A/S Movies for 50% off and they needed our room for a big group, so gave us an additional 50% off the room if they could move us after the first night. (We declined the extra discount and wanted to stay put.) January 2005, WL. Booked a standard room and were upgraded to a courtyard view, facing bay lake and pool. Got the CM holiday discount of 60% off, so paid $79 a night then too.

In Dec 2001 we got POR for $690 for ten nights (only three buildings were open in the resort) we had booked CBR for $129 and they called me a week before we left and asked if we would move. Saved us $600. United had round trip tickets for $169 so the four of us went to Disney for X-Mas for ten days with park hoppers for like $2500.

Last year when we showed up at AKL (in Sept) they never said a word about it but when we entered our room we had a Savanna view and had paid for standard. Loved it at the AKL so we're going back this Sept for ten more days. Oh, that smell when you walk in makes it worth the price by itself.

In December '03 we met up with my cousin, she's military and was stationed in Italy and came home for a month over Christmas. She wanted to start in WDW. At the time SOG was being rebuilt so she booked our rooms at Contemporary. Her room was $69 a night and the additional room was $99 for garden wing room. I wasn't a huge fan of the resort, but at that price couldn't pass it up.

The year WL opened, we got a special grand openingweek/FL resident rate of $99/night.

I doubt we will ever see anything close to that again.

Susan

A couple of years ago, we got an email for AKL $109/night for a standard room. When we arrived, we'd been upgraded to a Savannah end room!
Fabulous!

In June 2003 we got the WL (with AAA discount) for ~$109 a nte, courtyard/pool view. Not a bad deal! I wish that we could get that kind of rate again.
