Just curious...who's booked ADRs more than 180 days out?

I understand the policy...which is supposed to be 180 days from the start of your vacation and then up to 10 days after that. This eliminates the need for calling every day to book ADRs.

However, I have had a CM tell me that if I'm staying on property I can book 190 days out. (Which isn't really the policy, but is possible because of the way the computer system is set up for ADRs.)

My problem is I am leaving for a vacation before my 180 day window so I won't be home to use my land line. I will have my cell on vacation with me, but that will be the only phone I will have access to. I will still be home 190 days prior to my vacation, so I must admit I am tempted to try to book my ADRs early.

We will be there for the busy Christmas week :scared: and I am planning on some popular dining spots. If you were me, would you try to book early?

It can't hurt, although I believe the CM that told you that was not quite correct...I've been able to book them a day or two early before, but normally you can't. I did it once by accident, and realized later I got really lucky.

It is 180 days from the first date of your arrival, plus 10 more days, so it is not 190 days. But it can't hurt to try it. Otherwise, just use your cellphone, it is no different than calling from home.

yep you don't have to use your home phone, I never have, I always use my cell (it's in my speed dial, haha), in fact we don't even have a land line...

I booked 190 days out from my check in date, for my 9 day trip. When I made my reservation, the CM said I could, and I thought she was wrong, but I called anyway and there was no problem. I even called back the next day and changed one, again no problems.

I know every time I've called they put in my date of arrivial...and say Yep...your 180 days out so it looks like you CAN book ADR. I made the mistake on our first trip to WDW and goofed up my dates and tryed calling and booking 181 days out and was turned away... They just said I was one day early and to call back the next morning.

Also to add I've ALWAYS used my cell phone. I've never even tryed my land line.

Call early and book with one Call:thumbsup2 we go in the busy summer season and I make all my ressies on one cell phone call 180 days from the last day we will be there. I've been able to get every time and place we've wanted...sometimes we're the first for that date:rotfl2: The only open one for us this June is for TRex in DTD....it's not done yet and I'm waiting for someone on the boards to give me the high sign. then I'll call them via their reservation line.:woohoo:
