just curious...where have you had best and worst bus service?

Best -ASMu

Worst- Anything involving getting to or back from DTD- I just drive now.

Hands down the best we ever had was AKL!
We have stayed at ASSports as well and it was good. People were always standing but there was never much of a wait and they would always send another bus right away if we all couldn't fit on the bus!

Worst- Definitely OKW! The only time my DH and I ever argued on our trips was waiting for a bus. We would stand there after a long day at the parks and watch at least 3 buses come and go from other resorts while we still stood there and waited for a bus. We will NEVER stay there again!

Best: AKL
Worst: Have never experienced "worst." The bus system has worked well at all 3 WDW resorts we've stayed at (AKL, ASMu, POFQ), but AKL was superb, so I've singled them out.

Best: AKL!!!!

The others were fair bus service, not outstanding but not terrible.

We just got back from our 2nd trip to AKL and we still have not had any luck with the bus service there. Our first trip was 12/27-12/31/02 and we never waited less than 30 minutes for a bus, with some waits 45 and 60 minutes. It was so bad that we were really hesitant to go back there for this trip, but I kept reading such good things about their bus service, so we tried it again. It was nearly as bad this time, but we still either had a long wait or very crowded buses with standing room packed too. The worst was after the MNSSHP on 10/19. We went to the party on the 16th, but on the 19th we ate dinner at CG and were heading back to AKL from MK after dinner, around 10:10pm. When we got there a complete row was already waiting so we figured the bus should arrive soon. It didn't come until 10:45 and by that time the line was past all the rows of railings and stretching towards the next stop. In the time we waited, every other resort stop that we could see got at least 2 buses except AKL. It was bad enough for us to wait all that time (with me being pregnant and my mom recovering from cancer) but there were loads of small children who were very tired and cranky and needed to be back at their resort sleeping. We've had better luck anywhere else we stayed, from teh All Stars to the GF.

We've always had good luck with the busses, but:

Best: CSR. Hardly any waits, and only one Standing room only bus the entire week.

CBR: not horrible, but it does seem like a long time around the resort.

Have never had a repeated problem with bus service in ANY resort, after 30 stays. It's been an isolated 'less than desirable' day with bus or boat service. We're usually doing a combo of bus, boat, and sometimes our own car, so we wouldn't be using the bus exclusively for days in a row.

Absolute worst : CBR
Best: Every other resort we've stayed at(Polynesian, YC, AKL, GF, Swan, CSR, Dixie(oops), Sports- honestly the only place the transportaion made us want to scream was CBR.

I agree CBR was the worst we've had! FW bus service was not great! WL, ASMO, ASSP were all great! BOAT service from WL and FW was great transportation though!!!

Best:
Both Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter, as well as the Contemporary.

Worst:
Wilderness Lodge, Caribbean Beach, and All Star Movies

Best - All Star Music (Columbus Day 2002)
#2 Port Orleans Riverside (Veteran's Day 2001)
#3 All Star Sports (mid - March 2000)
#4 POR (February, President's week 2002)

All of these were good.

Worst - Swan (April-May 2003)

Worst- CBR Stayed there one Thanks. and will never do it again. We used our car which we normally never do and the room was more then ready for rehab.

Best- Maybe I have learned how to work the system at FW. But we have never had to wait more then 15mins for a bus.

The best so far was the Polynesian. Right out the front door and short waits. This bus tends to park closer to the park gates than most of the others.

The years we stayed at the Contemporary we really didn't use the bus that much since the Magic Kingdom and Epcot were the two main parks at the time.

I'm surprised at all the CBR "worst" listings. We stayed at the CBR quite a few years and never had a problem. Of course, we're seldom in a hurry so the frequent stops don't bother us much.

I'm also surprised at all the All-Stars raves. We sayed at the AS-Movies a few years back and the bus service was terrible. We waited as much as 45 minutes for a bus and they all parked about as far away from the park gates as you can get and still be on WDW property (okay, an exageration...). Maybe we just hit it wrong, but the bus service was our biggest reason for never going back to an All Star.

Over the years, I've noticed that the bus stops at the parks tend to run from the deluxe reosrts (closest) to the value resorts (furthest), which is probably okay since we might expect a few perks for what the deluxe resorts cost, even the "cheap" rooms.

One thing I'd like to see is inter-resort bus routes to make is easier for dining at the other resorts.

i have often heard that the value resorts have better bus service than some of the others. those of you that have tried many resorts, where has your best bus service been?

The "best" service is from the AKL. We have never had bad bus service. We do not care for the buses at CBR because they make so many internal stops but you will also have that issue as POR, and CSR.

we are not fans of disney bus service and try to avoid it as much as possible.
The best service we've had was when we stayed at CBR in May of 1998-low crowds and reliable busses.

The worst we've had-PO-R, waited about 1 hr. for a bus to Epcot one night!!!
I am not a fan of the BC/YC busses because they go to BWI, Swan and Dolphin. I wish there was only one bus per hotel!

Out of all the resorts (see my signature line below) I'd have to say the worst was Wilderness Lodge. But that wouldn't keep me from staying there again, it's my second favorite resort!

The best bus service we had is a tie between the Dolphin and Coronado Springs.

It has never mattered where we've stayed. I can guarantee you that whatever park we have chosen to go to for the day, about 4-5 buses will come for other places before ours finally comes. LOL.
