Just curious on average everyone spends on food

DANG! How many people are you going with?! i don't think i could spend 4,000 on food if i tried! unless i was there for a few months...

There will be five of us. My wife, myself, two teenage boys and a 9 year old.
I'm sure I won't need that much but my biggest worry is going someplace and running outta money. lol

I have that fear too. And since I don't use credit cards....I usually am a cheap skate for the beginning few days of a trip til I figure out how my cash is flowing.

We don't use credit cards either and this is all cash for us as well. I have a spreadsheet with about what we can spend per day. I like to leave wiggle room. I am sure that I will be the same way...cheap in the beginning, but then letting it go at the end, lol. I am getting my list ready for my Von's order. Mostly water, snacks and such. Right now my big worry is missing the shuttle bus on the way back, we must get on the first one to be at the airport on time. And because I am paranoid, I am going to hold out $50 or so for a cab to SNA. Just so I can relax too :)

The Dobies do all their eating in the parks, hotels, or DTD, cause hey, they are on vacation...

So three adult Dobies spent about $135 or so per day on food, averaged out, including churros but excluding boozage.

...oh, but we will totally blow this average this trip when we go to Napa Rose....and did I mention the MIMOSAS at La Brea Bakery Cafe???

I like the Dobie. Want to go on vacation with us! Boozage:dance3:

We are planning on buying some groceries and snacks for the parks. When we go to WDW we always order from garden grocers. So we get baby and kid stuff (diapers, wipes etc...) bottled water, capri suns, some kid friendly snacks, protein bars, and beer for the room! It really helps with the budget for in the park!

We budget about $150/day for a family of four (kids are 9 and 13) and that doesn't include breakfast which we buy at the grocery store and eat in our hotel room. But it isn't a big deal if we go over, just something to work with. We pay most things with credit cards as we don't like taking a lot of cash with us and we get great rewards with our cc company. We aren't a family of big eaters and don't like the character meals.
