just curious if anyone else is as anal as i am when preparing there vacation

i had the 1 bdr at SSR booked at exactly 11 months

i had all my dining booked at 90 days

I had the bos i'm shipping down packed two weeks ago,
mailed today

I will pack tonight, leaving Saturday, as i wear monkey suits all week,
unfortunately DW and DD will probably still be packing at 10:00
friday night

Sounds well planned. My DW and DD daughters are still packing an hour before our flight. It gets tiring to have the plane door hit you in the butt as you board.

What?!?! You make your ADRs at only 90 days out instead of 180??? And you call yourself a planner... ;) :rotfl2:

I know, I plan the ADR's 180 days plus 10 or whatever I am staying over the 180. I am a late packer though. I need to be packing for Alaska right now and What am I doing? Typing on the Dis...:lmao:

Yup, sounds like us.

We booked for Jan the first day we could (May 16th...AKV owners) and will likely book future trips right AT the 11 month mark.

Our ADR's are all made for our trip...in January (exactly 180 days from our check in date).

We've already started some packing (stuff we're buying now, like sunscreen, that's tough to find in CT in December...and stuff like contact lens "stuff", etc that we can buy now and stow away).

We'll be packed at least a week before we leave...since much of what we'll take to WDW in January (short sleeves, etc) aren't of much use in late Dec/early Jan in CT.

So yes....in a nutshell....I have the "sickness" too. Ain't it great?

I'm thinking you're a Disney vet who was VERY used to the old "90 day" rule.

:)

I do our reservation day by day at eleven months.

ADRS are done at 180+10 days.

We use Owner's Locker so we don't have to ship anything, our Disney supplies are waiting for us when we arrive.

You got me on the packing, I never pack until the night before.

Another anal person here :wave2:

I had all my stuff booked:

BCV: 7 month mark
Dining: 180 days - I got CRT breakfast :cool1:
Illuminations Cruise: 90 days exactly

We leave next week!!!

:lmao: :rotfl:

Okay I haven't even bought in yet and I'm working on plans for a trip Oct 2008 - unless the date changes~ feel better?:cutie: ( umm and Disney Oct 2009 + Hawaii Sept 2008...)

Hoping to do a GV, so 11months out calling - yep. I absolutely will be booking dinners 180 days out or 180+10 (thats still confuses me)... and if anyone doesn't like my dining choices they can make their own plans :snooty:

I'll be shipping down a box w/ misc odds and ends around the Tues before hand too~

So nice to meet fellow planners isn't it?:cloud9:

What's a disney vacation without planning... to me thats half the fun!!!! I love to plan, replan, make ADR's, Change ADR's etc. I think we are all a little obsessed but thats a Good thing:woohoo:

Count me it! I am quilty of all of the above!!:cool1:

I'm starting a campaign to promote the benefits of the word 'fastidious'. Who's with me?

I am usually not happy unless I have 2+ vacations on the go. for instance, I am still palnning our DCL/VWL for October and have started on my March trip to Vero.

Plus I am helping 2 other co-workers plan their trips.

Sounds like what I always START out doing! Fortunately, anything that requires a reservation is made 11 mos/180 days out on the dot without fail.

Ressies for VWL for our June '08 trip are made and we're already thinking about our ADR's.

Add to that a December "quickie" trip that's already planned, ressies, ADR's etc...

The packing is where I go wrong! I always start out so nice and orderly and by the night before we leave, I'm just throwing s(*#t into a suitcase.

I worked on our ship-ahead box for a month before we left in March but I was still crammed for time trying to get it taped up and mailed off.

WHERE do I go wrong????

My DW and I can take our vacation at anytime, so we use the 11 month at all times, so we find ourselves planning our DVC trips about 3 years in advance.:goodvibes

I guess I am "fastidious" too.

I have my room ressie for April.

I call day by day at 7months too

I always make my dining ressies at 180+10

I think what really pushes me over the edge is that I have already planned each day, which park, and where we will eat and time. ( I make a graph too:rolleyes1 )

Now I just have to wait until 180 mark.

All in favor of some therapy......:wave2:

me too, i have a spreadsheet listing the date, park, resturant, time and confirmation number.

Unfortunately when you plan far in advanced i find that i have nothing left to do except pack, and i get disney withdrawl

My DH is the planner and although he's not always doing it way ahead of time, his planning habits ARE his therapy. He'll come home from a 14 hour work day and start planning something for our June 08 vacation. His father was fighting cancer and DH was planning a 21 day vacation out west. It's his escape from the real world.

Me, on the other hand, I'm doing laundry at 2:00 a.m. when we're leaving at 6:00 a.m. and since we drive - I'm stopping at a Walmart somewhere to get the stuff I forgot to pack. :rolleyes1
