Just curious, anyone else still need to get their plane tickets?

I've been watching USAir over the past month or so and saw the prices coming down. I figured I would wait another week and get mine. Well, I checked the other day and the prices went back up! So, I'm going to keep watching, very closely, and then just bite the bullet and get mine, no matter what price. If they keep going up, they'll cost me more than my room! :(

I haven't gotten our's yet either. I've been keeping check and noticed on Friday that they had dropped quite a bit. I've also heard on the news that after labor day there should be another drop, so I'm holding out hope, but worried I'm waiting too long. Good luck.

Barb, since you're traveling alone - you could always try Priceline if reasonably priced airfare doesn't turn up soon. I've used it for 3 solo trips to Orlando, and I've been pretty happy with what I've gotten - but there is a definite strategy to use when bidding. Go to www.biddingfortravel.com if you are interested.

I haven't bought our tickets yet, either. Haven't seen anything under $200 for our dates, and that's $50 higher than the most expensive ticket I've bought so far. Still waiting for them to come down a bit, but may have to spend more than I wanted. :(

I bought mine when it was definite that I was coming to DISCON. Duh.... Delta is offering a fare from Denver to Orlando for around $132 round trip right now. The flight times are horrible, but it would have saved me a bundle. Live and learn.

I've been holding out for a deal too but I doubt I can make myself wait any more than about another week, maybe two.

I know exactly which flight I want and I check it everyday. Sometimes I think I should just grab it now.

Okay... one more week!

Don't quote me on this, but I think Linda (as in DIS-Con Linda ;) ) said that after Labor Day airfares for Nov/Dec should drop a little. I think those of you who have waited this long, should at least wait 'til after Labor Day....Just MHO. ;)

I grabbed $244/person/roundtrip......but I really wanted $200. :( Oh well, I'm going to check it after Labor Day and see how I faired, or is it fared?

Good Luck Everyone! :)

I bought through Southwest when they had cheapo special prices. I paid the unbelievable amount of $75 RT. Still don't believe it! I would have been happy to pay $150 (but I am not complaining!):D :bounce: :D :bounce: :D :bounce: :D :bounce: :D

I wouldn't have minded Southwest.....BUT......from here to Florida would have required 2 stops and my kids just COULD NOT HANDLE THAT! And it would have made me  LOL :D

Mine's got one stop at George H.W. Bush International in Houston. Do you think Barbara Bush will come out to meet me? Nah......

I used Priceline for my parents in June and they flew Midway (doubt that option will be available anymore) for $85 RT each. The best I've found so far for DIS CON has been $226, but Friday I checked and got $155. I feel like I should have grabbed that and been pleased. I hope I don't regret that decision later

I grabbed a Delta promotion in August. My rt will be around US$ 600, which is pretty good if you consider the distance. My only concern is that I might have to change my return date to a later date than 12/11... We will see...My oldest son might come and meet me after I go back from the cruise. But this will only happen if he really studies like crazy this term.

Thanks, Nancy, for the info. My problem I am flying out of Allentown, PA instead of Philly. There is only one non-stop, direct flight out of Allentown and that's with USAir. I could fly out of Philly and have a ton of flights to choose from, but my DH is driving me and picking me up from the airport. Driving to Allentown is 100 times easier than driving to Philly. So I have to watch that one flight. Oh, well. I think I'll go check it now.

I bought mine for about $450 (incl. tax). Could have booked a cheaper flight (about $60 less), but this one is non-stop. Want to be in Orlando as quick as possible!!!:bounce:

I bit the bullet a few weeks back and purchased my tix. $199 coming out of Dallas/ Ft Worth...I keep checking everyday but it is now up to 267 RT for my flight times.

I agree with you, Sandra, I much prefer non-stop flights and I am willing to pay a little more to get them! :) :) :)

I don't have much of a choice. either I stop in Miami to change planes or in Atlanta (if I fly Delta). I prefer to stop in Atlanta, in my opinion it is usually less crowded and imigration runs smoother.

We booked back in January $186.50 round trip from Pittsburgh, non-stop. Not a bad price. I've checked several times since then and haven't found anything cheaper. I was just excited to be going and booked ASAP. The last piece of the puzzle was the rental car and I booked that at the end of July, and I got the call today that the voucher is in for my AP. Now all I have to do is pack!! LOL
