Just closed this morning, a few questions...

I just got off the phone w/ Nancy at Magic Vacation Title and was informed that my resale contract closed. She suggested that I call MS to make ressies in about 2 weeks.

Questions: I've seen others say that they were able to make ressies earlier than that 2 week period, maybe 7-10 days. When should I start calling to check if I am in their system? Since I'm travelling in Aug, I'm within the 7 mo. period already, and I'd like to book as soon as possible.

Also, when I call, will they be able to give me my member # on the phone once I'm in their system by looking up my SSN? Will I need this to access the website?

And, I need to bank points from this UY into next. Do I just tell them that on the phone?

Finally, our preferences for our Aug 10-13 three night stay are AKV (value or standard studio), BWV (any studio), and VWL studio. Any chance those are still available for those times? From what I've read, Aug. seems to be a decent time in regards to DVC availability. Is that accurate?

I don't know the answer to when you will be in the system, but yes, I would try 7-10 days out. August doesn't seem to be a busy time for DVC users, the points actually go down during the second half of the month. You should get one of your choices, here's some pixie dust There should be plenty of standard studios in Kidani, well, that's my guess.

I've purchased 2 resale contracts and both times it took 7 business days to get into the system.

MS will be able to look you up and give you your member number. There's also a code/pin that you will need to register for the website. They will be able to provide that as well. If you get a CM that says you need to wait for that to be mailed to you either ask for them to double check on that or call back and speak to someone else. I had that happen but thankfully I insisted since I never did get anything mailed to me.

Yes, you can do banking over the phone.

I closed on my resale on 2/2/09. On 2/1/09 I received an email from my guide with info for the dvcmember website, so I called MS and asked if I was in their system and I was. So I would recommend calling them and checking - it won't hurt. If you are in the system great and if not you lost nothing! Congrats and Welcome Home!!!!!!

I received an email that we closed on our resale (through Magic Vacation Title) on January 27, and we were in the Disney system on January 29. I'd call and check tomorrow. It can't hurt. They were very friendly and helpful when I called to check. I wouldn't have called that early, but I got an email from a lady at Disney on January 29. She was entering in our contract and needed to know if I was a Mrs. or a Mr. since my name is Jamie.
