Just closed...Member Website question

OK so I just found out I closed...finally.

I know I have to wait about a week to get into Disney's system, but I have a few questions. How do I know I am in the system? Should I keep calling MS or will they notify me? Also, how do I access the member website? Will I receive instructions in the mail or will they be able to tell me over the phone?

Give it a few days and give MS a call. The can give you your website info over the phone.

Did you buy resale or through Disney? We just purchased through Disney at AKV and we were given our member # and pin for the website before we even signed our contract and sent it back. I mailed the contract back yesterday and I was logged onto the website Saturday night. The member ID was in the contract packet, along with temporary member ID cards and our PIN #s came on a separate post card in the mail.

Will I be able to make a reservation as soon as we are in the system? Will I also receive the new member packet? How long does that take for resale purchases?

We are in the same situation. We closed last week and we were told to call in 7 to 10 days to see if we are on the system. I am trying to be patient!!!! Especially since I need to book for June!

Just remember there are 2 stages to getting in the system. 1st is they load your membership in, at this point you can get your log in but can not make a reservation yet.
Second is when they load your points in the system. This is when you can make an actual reservation. Both are typically done in 7-14 days.

Is there a difference for an existing member? For our TSS docs, we included our existing membership id so that this was more of an add on. We have the same use year as well. Should the new contract just show up on the website, or would I still have to call?

No one has to call. The contract and point transactions will happen as MS gets around to it. In your case, if processed correctly, your add on sub contract will show up under your existing MS web page.

Answers to some questions:

We sent our payment and the closing docs in on Monday 8.25.08, and we were notified of our closing on 9.9.08.

And who is your company? It seems some brokers work faster than others.
We went through GMAC and the closing company was Timeshare Title and More.

Thanks all for the imput so far, I am anxious to make some reservations...this process was far too time consuming for me I'll be going direct for add ons, I think.

Yes, have you called yet? I got an email on Sunday that we had closed, which means it was probably Friday. 7 days would be this Friday but I am becoming very impatient!!! Originally I was in no hurry because we weren't going back until November 2009. Plenty of time to close, get on the system, etc. Well our seller had points that will expire next July so we have to go in June. I am stressing out! Breathe breathe breathe.
