I'm going to work at bringing back big big 80's style hair. I was watching vh1 classics. And I realized how much I still like that look. The Bangles sure could pull it off. Remember spending hours doing your hair and makeup. Nobody does that anymore. Who wants to join me.

From one Philly girl to another, I'll pass, but you can have my can of Vavoom hair spray. It worked wonders for me in the 80's! :wave2:

You can still see 80s big hair in Chambersburg, NJ (Italian neighborhood in Trenton, DH gew up there).

I admit that I miss my big 80s hair, but I sure don't miss getting perms!

Hey that reminds me of the Stephanie Plum books. She still does the big hair and makeup and that's where she's from.

Ugh, not me! I didn't even do the 80's look in the 80's! LOL!

:

O.K., even though I have lived in VA all my life, I will gladly join in bringing back the 80's big hair!!!:hyper:

Heck, I wish I had hours to do my hair and make up again! 2 kids, a husband and job took all that time!

I was just thinking about 80's hair styles today and that I missed them.

My hair is just naturally big. It didn't take any time at all to make it 80's big. I used Aqua Net too. My hair never moved lol

If you guys start a movement to bring back the mullet for guys I'll be soooooooo mad!  :teeth: LOL!

Saffron, my boys were freaking because they found pictures from when they were really little and had mullets.
Did you watch The Apprentice. Wow I sure was hot for The Donald's combover. I figure everybody is too afraid to tell him what they really think of it.

repeat after me,

put down the aqua-net and back away from the mirror!!!

put down the aqua-net and back away from the mirror!!!

this message brought to you by the society for the banning of bad music and bad hair

I used "STIFF STUFF" hairspray and gel! I had crispy hair!:scared1:

Noooooooo! We can't bring back '80's hair. I don't have the time for it!

Let's see. I used to get 3 or 4 perms a year. I washed my hair every morning, then applied Tenex or mousse.

I blowed it dry, then used a curling iron on the top.

I teased it and shaped it, then sprayed it--a lot. And it needed spraying throughout the day.

The next day, start all over again. I had to get the previous day's goop out. :p

Hey, what do you expect? I was in my 20's in the '80's, I was single, and I was a Jersey girl. (Still am and always will be.)

Thanks, Tigeroo. Cute topic. :)

I am so with you!

I swear my "wings" could have put someone's eye out in the 80s.

LOL! My family is from Trenton, and yes, you still see that! (Its still alive and well in Ewing area, and Yardville!)

I never did the BIG POOF hair, but I did have Robert Smith (The Cure hair). Think of Flock of Seagulls (videos), crossed with an Aimmee Mann (Til Tuesday look) but crimped!

I used a crimper! It was the best way to do punk hair!

My 5 year old neice was looking at pictures from my brothers wedding with me the other day. She asked "was Aunt Jodi afraid to get married" I told her I don't think so why. "Why is her hair all standing up like she's scared". It was about 8 inches high!!

That's one of the funniest things I've heard a little kid say. Hahahahahaha
